Rocco Iervasi
Florida Director of Operations/Area Scout

We are two weeks away from the 2021 Senior State Games which will feature many of the top 2022’s throughout the state of Florida. The Class of 2022 continues to be extremely deep in Florida with several players who will be selected high in the 2022 Draft. Today, we will update our Florida Class of 2022 rankings with several players making big jumps after a strong 2021 summer circuit. Take a look.

The top 4 of the Florida 2022 Class remains the same with Elijah Green, Brandon Barriera, Sal Stewart, and Jackson Ferris in that order. Things change at No. 5 as C Brady Neal has reclassified to the 2022 class. The LSU commit from IMG Academy becomes the premier catcher in the state and one of the top three catchers throughout the 2022 class. An elite left handed bat with all the tools behind the plate.

No. 6 is OF
Roman Anthony who had a tremendous summer for Canes National. An Ole Miss commit out of the South Florida powerhouse Stoneman Douglas, Anthony looks to be another one of the Eagles’ top Draft picks. 6-foot-3, 185 pounds. Physical left handed bat with the ability to hit for easy power to all fields. Anthony tore it up this summer especially at the National Program Invitational.

No. 7 is another big summer standout in 3B
Ethan Petry. Petry is a South Carolina commit from Cypress Creek. He put his power on display this summer for the Ostingers. Consistently drove the gaps with intent with many home runs to add. Petry put together a strong showing at Area Codes as well to round out an overall impressive summer, only adding to his draft stock.

A few more players that rose in this rankings update. OF
Nathan Fink comes over to IMG from Virginia and slots at No. 10 in the state. 1B Jayden Hylton impressed in his first full summer in Florida. 6-foot-6, 210 pound frame with tons of projectability, athleticism, and power. BHP Jurrangelo Cijntje is one of the more interesting players to come through the high school Florida ranks in a while. An ambidextrous pitcher who has been up to 95 mph from the right side and high 80’s from the left. One of the more interesting follows in the entire 2022 class.
