Florida Diamond Club Analysis: West

The Florida Diamond Club Showcase was held Friday, October 4th through Sunday, October 6th at Joker Marchant Stadium in Lakeland, Florida. The event featured three days of pro-style workouts and game-play featuring the top 2020 and 2021 players in the state of Florida. The players were separated into four different teams, North, South, East, and West. Today, we take a look at the player analysis of the West team (Yankees).

West (Yankees)

Colin Apgar (Lakewood Ranch, OF)

2020 committed to Florida State. Athletic and strong frame at 6 foot 1, 180 pounds. Has a balanced setup at the plate with a short stride and level swing, is a line drive hitter with gap to gap power from the left side. Quality first step in the outfield with accuracy and carry on throws.

Justin Clark (Jesuit, RHP)

2020 committed to West Virginia. Athletic and strong frame at 6 foot 5, 225 pounds. RHP who’s very projectable with size and short arm action from the ¾ arm slot. Sitting with the fastball 87-88 and slider 81-82. Flies open some on delivery to home and causes some command issues at times.

Aaron Combs (IMG Academy, RHP)

2020 committed to Coastal Carolina. Athletic and lanky frame at 6 foot 3, 170 pounds. As a RHP throws from the low ¾ arm slot and across his body to create some arm side run. Sitting 87-89 with the fastball, 74-75 with the slider, 78-79 with the change up. Commands all pitches for strikes. 

Zach DeVito (Newsome, RHP)

2020 committed to Tulane. Athletic and lanky frame at 5 foot 11, 155 pounds. RHP that throws from the ¾ arm slot and has loose and short arm action. Commands the zone with all pitches and sits 88-90 with the fastball and 72-73 with the curveball with some depth.
