Austin BergnerScouting Report: 6-foot-4, 190-pound, right-handed pitcher with a tall loose lean athletic projectable body with strength in hips and thighs. Loose quick easy working arm at a 3/4 slot. Fluid delivery. Very good arm speed. Ball jumps out of his hand. Has some deception. Hides ball in back. Lands across his body but gets good extension out front consistently. Repeats delivery. Commands the FB. Throws breaking ball for strike. FB has some late run and sink at 90-94 mph. CV is a downer with depth at 77-79 mph. A swing and miss pitch. 2 plus ML pitches with a lot of upside. Will throw even harder. Has a chance to be a high 2016 draft.

Bergner, a talented athlete, also batted .469 with 5 HRs, 28 RBIs and 14 SBs on the year.

Outlook: As some prospects have taken a step up this season, no one has the track record of Bergner who has been performing on the national stage since his freshman year. This track record should help his case for staying at the top of draft boards for 2016. Last summer Bergner was one of two members of the class of 2016 to make the USA Baseball 18U National Team. On Team USA Bergner worked five innings allowing just one hit and striking out seven, reportedly running his fastball up to 95 mph. This summer Bergner will compete with the Florida Burn travel program as well as making the rounds on the showcase circuit. He has already been named to the Under Armour All-American Game, which will take place on August 15th at Wrigley Field in Chicago, IL.
