Scouting Report

07/09/17- Committed to the University of Central Florida.

04/15/17- Posey has been on the rise in the 2019 class after impressing early in the year at the Preseason All-State. The velocity wasn't the 87 mph we saw at the Preseason All-State, but the feel for the above offspeed and overall feel for pitching was.  Posey worked mostly 82-83 mph with his fastball, working down in the zone and attacking both sides of the plate. Posey had previously shown the feel for an above average to plus changeup at 76-77, but featured an above average slider today. It had tight spin, with hard late breaking, sweeping action at 73-74 mph. Posey would go 6.1 innings while allowing three runs on five hits while striking out five.

01/21/17- The 6-foot-3, 185 pound RHP/1B was a big time standout for National Crosschecker Shooter Hunt. Was super twitchy at the plate from the left side with a big leg kick and lots of movement, but the path worked and he created good shoulder angle. Big frame with big hands. Wide shoulders and room to fill out. Up to 87 a few times, but sat more in the 83-85 range. Threw a power changeup at 77 that was with serious late sink. It is already a plus pitch and he throws it with confidence. Slider was 77 mph with quality shape to it. Athletic kid who also plays basketball. Dad is legendary coach at high school, and brother is pitching coach at Elon. Quick arm with a short swing. Big time performance with a lot of upside.
