The final day of the 2020 PBR Florida Select finished up on Monday, June 29th at IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida, The event features teams from the 15u, 17u, and 18u age groups. Each team is guaranteed four games with championships on Monday.

Throughout the weekend, we will have a scout blog for each day. These scout blogs are notes on some of the players that stood out to the PBR Florida scouts. Take a look at the Day Four Scout Blog.

Day Four Scout Blog

Jeb Bartle RHP / Cullman, AL / 2021

Uncommitted. RHP. Strong lower half. Works quick with an up tempo delivery, mature composure on the bump for age. Strike throwing RHP, forces a lot of ground balls. FB 84-87. CB 72. 3 outings this weekend, 7 K’s. 


 

Cristian Bolt OF / OF / Strawberry Crest , FL / 2021

Bolt stood out with his athleticism in centerfield. Showed a quick first step in the outfield and was able to cover ground on deep balls in the gap. Offensively showed a simple up the middle approach with quickness on the base paths. 


 

Bryce Brindle C / Creekside, FL / 2021

Stout frame with strength in the limbs. Wide shoulders and hips and carries the weight proportionately. Solid feet in the infield with controlled movements as well at the plate. Stays quiet in the load with some negative movement in the hands to cock the slot. Stays within himself trusting the forearm and wrists to get to and through the baseball at contact


Gavin Conticello 3B / SS / Coral Springs Charter, FL / 2021

USF commit. 6-foot-3, 185 pond compact, athletic frame. Consistent above average bat speed. Stand up 2 RBI triple to RCF wall. Next at bat, effortless swing smoking a hard line drive to CF at 95 mph exit velo. Finishing the day with a very hard ground ball through SS legs at 95. 

Seth Dudley RHP / 1B / Wakulla Christian , FL / 2020

Chipola commit. Tall stocky right-hander at 6-foot-4, 205 pounds. Works quickly with an up tempo delivery. Attacks hitters with the fastball at 87-90. Heavy fastball that gets onto batters quick. 

 

 

Luis Gonzalez OF / 1B / Brito MIami Private School, FL / 2020

Big bodied OF that swings a big stick. Has a lot of strength in the upper body with advanced feel for the barrel. Long legs, keeps the weight on the inside utilizing a short leg kick to stay balanced. Negative movement in the hands slotting high behind the head. Clears the hips efficiently and the hands fly through when he gets to the optimal balance point. 

 

Jordan Jerkins C / 3B / Liberty County , FL / 2021

Thick upper body and athletic lower half. Has plenty of strength in the lower arms allowing him to stay closed, seeing pitches a long way. Subtle toe tap keeps the weight back and slight movement in the hands. Gets the barrel to the ball consistently with a quick whip through the zone. 

 

Noah Krieger RHP / OF / Gateway Prep, TX / 2021

Uncommitted right-hander came in relief with an athletic, quick arm. 6-foot-2, 188 pound frame. Was sitting 87-89 with late arm side run. Touched 90 on his last pitch.  

Skyler Netolicky LHP / Hillsborough, FL / 2021

Efficient LHP, FB 84-86, CB 70-72, SL 77. Competes in the zone with all pitches, CB has true action, SL sharp bite, does a good job of mixing those two pitches keeping hitters off balance.  

 

James Nguyen C / Largo, FL / 2021

Smooth actioned footwork at SS, soft hands, easy/quick arm strength. Hands staying inside baseball on this line drive up the middle.  

 

Manny Ramirez Jr OF / Calvary Christian Academy, FL / 2021

Physical player that’s just starting to grow into a hitter. Shows a lot of strength in his swing that translates into raw gap to gap power potential. Quick hands that can get to any pitch near the plate. Overall there is a ton of upside offensively. 

 

Kohl Robertson OF / 3B / Sickles , FL / 2021

Robertson went 9-15 on the weekend, two 2B’s, 3 SB’s. Highest exit velo was 95. Short, compact swing, barrel extension coming in the back end of swing with natural lift. Kid can swing it.


Adrian Rolon 3B / RHP / Riverview , FL / 2023

Rolon stood out on both sides of the ball this weekend as an athletic two-way guy. Rolon was a major contributor to his team winning the 15U championship. Showed quick hands at the plate and allowed the ball to get deep. Gap to gap hitter continues to find the barrel.  

 

John Schroeder C / 1B / Lakewood Ranch, FL / 2021

Switch hitting, smooth swinging catcher is committed to FAU. Schroeder showed quick hands hurting the baseball all weekend going 8-13 (.615), 3 2B’s, 1 HR (380 ft.) 94 mph exit velo multiple times. 

 

 

Kurtis Thomas RHP / 1B / Nauset Regional , MA / 2021

Stocky frame with present strength. Fairly fluid delivery shifting the weight to the back leg, taking the entire body to the target. Wide upper body, with broad shoulders that have flexibility in the arm motion. Short leg kick and leads with the front hip towards the plate. Cuts off stride at times but pushes the upper body through the target extending off fingers as he possesses good feel for the release. 

Paxton Tomaini SS / 3B / Leon , FL / 2020

Chipola commit. Athletic, lean frame with muscular build. Above average runner with smooth strides in the field and around bases. Quick hands at the plate and advanced hand-eye coordination. Optimal lay back on barrel through the turn keeping hands tight and creating tons of torque
