Junior State Games Preview

After a successful inaugural Senior State Games, we look to continue that success with the inaugural Junior State Games. The Junior State Games will take place this weekend, October 17-18 at Jack Russell Stadium in Clearwater, Florida, the former Spring Training home of the Philadelphia Phillies. The Junior State Games will feature some of the top 2022 players from around the State of Florida competing to #RepYourRegion against the other regions in the state. Players will be separated into North, South, East, and West Regions. Today, we will preview the rosters for each region. We highlight each player who will be in attendance at the first annual Junior State Games.

North Region

The North Region is run by our North Florida Scouting Director, CJ Butts. On the mound for the North is Jacksonville commit RHP Bryce Kemper. Kemper will feature a fastball in the mid to high 80’s. Joining Kemper on the mound is a trio of uncommitted right-handers in Josiah Glodfelter, Andrew Veniard, and Jude Howell. Behind the plate for the North is PBR Future Gamer Hayden Perry, as well as Eli Maddox and Benjamin Smith. All three are still uncommitted. At first base is a powerful left-handed hitter in Simon Kohn. At the hot corner are two talented uncommitted 3B in Alex Lodise and Payton Waters. Up the middle for the North are six uncommitted shortstops. Jake O’Steen, Tyson Greene, Levi Anderson, Parker McDonald, Joseph Bramblett, and Alabama native Cason Eubanks. In the outfield, are two athletic uncommitted players in William Merrix and Christopher Moss.

 

South Region

The South Region is run by our Florida Executive Director, Doug Freeman. Pitching for the South is Florida commit, LHP Zachary Root. Root is the No. 5 ranked player in the PBR Florida Class of 2022 rankings. Joining Root are a pair of uncommitted right-handers in Esaid Pena and Zack Robinson. Behind the plate, the South has a pair of strong bodied uncommitted catchers in Joey Daniels and Dalton Kuhn. At first base, the South has one of the top bats in the country in Florida commit Yoel Tejada Jr. as well as PBR Future Gamer Jack Bello. At third base is uncommitted Hunter Miller, who will also see time behind the plate. Up the middle for the South is FGCU commit Eddie-Boe Rodriguez and NC State commit Bryant Zayas. Joining them are a group of uncommitted middle-infielders in Michael McAloose, Griffin Hugus, Ruben Gandarilla, Matthew Huembes, and Jonathan Xuereb. Both Hugus and Xuereb will see time on the mound as well. In the outfield are FIU commit Jameson Caro, Future Gamer Nicholas Alonso, and Chrisopher Duprey.


East Region

The East Region is run by our PBR Florida Regional Scout and recent Colorado Rockies prospect, Cayden Hatcher. Pitching for the East is Miami commit Chandler Dorsey. Dorsey is joined by three uncommitted arms in RHP’s Jeremy Weaver and Caden Kok, and LHP Landon Miller. Behind the plate, the East has Florida commit Salvador Alvarez, Future Gamer and Bethune-Cookman commit Schyler Arroyo, and uncommitted Gustavo Mendez. At first base is Florida commit Landon Moran, who will see time on the mound as well. In the infield is Bethune-Cookman commit Cameron King as well as uncommitted shortstops Jalen Hairston and Grant Gilooly. King will see time on the mound as well. In the outfield is Bethune-Cookman commit Cadmiel Pompa, former Future Gamer Dylan Bowen, as well as uncommitted Kyle Suda and Tyler Waddell.


West Region

The West Region is run by yours truly, PBR Florida Director of Operations Rocco Iervasi. On the mound for the West is USF commit Zachary Showalter. Showalter features a fastball that has been up to 94 this fall. Joining Zack are a trio of uncommitted southpaws in Huston Wynne, Colin Sengkhounmany, and Aidan Dorrell. Rounding out the rotation are three uncommitted right-handers in Future Gamer Ethan Phillips, Nathan Norwood, and Paul Brock. Catching for the West is Florida State commit Gunnett Carlson as well as uncommitted Eli Kapkowski and Ryan Gargett. Gargett will see time on the mound as well. At first base is former Junior Future Gamer Aiden Roe. Up the middle, we have USF commit Jorge Santana, as well as Future Gamers Marek Houston, Matt Rose, and Christopher Roberts. Rounding out the middle infield are uncommitted shortstops Camden Boyer and Anthony Grasso. Both Santana and Boyer will see time on the mound as well. The lone primary outfielder for the West is athletic Nick Monile. Several two-way pitchers will see time in the outfield as well.
