The North Region State Games Tryout took place Saturday, August 28th at Northwest FL State College in Niceville, FL. The event featured players from the 2022-2026 classes participating in a pro-style workout followed by bullpens in front of the PBR Florida Scouting Staff.

Player Analysis

Brian (Ben) Abram 3B / 2B / Fleming Island , FL / 2024

5-foot-9, 165-pound solid athletic build. Solid capable during batting practice, the right-handed hitter had an exit velocity of 85 mph. Began in a balanced active stance with a smooth arm bar load, then used a controlled leg kick. Bat speed was developing, used a short upward swing plane and high good extension on his finish. He barreled up some balls with a lot of loud contact. Pull side approach. Confident athletic while in the infield, made throws up to 78 mph; has choppy quick feet, sure consistent hands, and a clean fluid exchange. Laterally, movements were athletic and fielded the ball out front. Consistent accuracy to the bag, used a quick arm action and a high ¾ slot. Clocked a time of 8.1 in the 60-yard dash. Solid on the mound, used a high ¾ arm angle with a clean arm action while showing some consistent arm speed. Drop-and-drive type pitcher who uses some effort. Balance point is tall with even shoulders during delivery. Lands square with balanced finish. Produced a fastball that came in at 75-77 mph. had command arm side up in the zone. Threw his 11/5 curveball (64-66) with decent glove side command and late action. Shows arm side down in the zone control and fading action on his changeup.

Ryan Braddock SS / 2B / Williston, FL / 2022

5-foot-10, 155-pound lean athletic build. Solid at the plate, Braddock was ranked 3rd with an exit velocity of 87 mph.Begins in a balanced athletic stance with a smooth controlled load, then uses a controlled toe tap stride. Bat speed was quick efficient, used a loose uphill swing plane and good extension on his finish. Created loud contact and found multiple barrels. Line drive approach. Confident solid while in the infield, recorded position velocities up to 78 mph; has a natural exchange, fluid in control feet, and sure hands. Fields the ball out front, movements laterally were athletic. Using a consistent arm action, showed decent accuracy to the bag from a high ¾ slot. Recorded a time of 7.22 in the 60-yard dash.

Saxon Hill 3B / 1B / J.M. Tate, FL / 2022

6-foot-1, 185-pound solid physical frame. Solid during batting practice, the right-handed hitter clocked an exit velocity of 82 mph. Starts in a balanced tall stance with a quick arm bar load, then uses a short controlled stride. Bat speed was flashed quick, showed a simple level swing plane and high good extension on his finish. Found some barrels with loud contact. Aggressive approach. Capable while in the infield, made throws at velocities up to 75 mph; shows aggressive consistent feet, a clean exchange, and twitchy sure hands. Laterally, movements were average and fielded the ball out front. Used a ¾ slot and a quick arm action while showing consistent accuracy to the bag. During the event, clocked a 60 time of 7.63.

Cody Holland C / 1B / Ridgeviewi, FL / 2024

6-foot, 200-pound sturdy solid build. Capable during batting practice, Holland had an exit velocity of 82 mph. Begins in a tall open stance with a slow small load, then uses a short controlled stride. Bat speed was flashed efficient, used a loose swing plane and level finish. Found some barrels with loud contact. Aggressive line drive approach. Behind the plate, his best throw downs of the day reached a max velocity of 68 mph; has a quick clean transfer, consistent in control feet, and sure hands. produced pop times of 2.28-2.32. Some flexibility and staggered wide setup. From an-over-the-top slot, showed decent accuracy to the bag with a short arm action. Clocked a time of 7.92 in the 60-yard dash.   

Keegan Leckband RHP / 3B / Fleming Island, FL / 2024

6-foot, 155-pound long lanky frame. Solid projectable on the mound, had a long loose arm action and a high ¾ arm angle with consistent developing arm speed. Tall-and-fall type pitcher and uses decent effort. Displays in line shoulders and a consistent balance point. Lands square with a clean finish. Produced a fastball that came in at 75-77 mph; showed running action and arm side command. Throws a 10/4 slider (65-66) with some sweeping action and glove side decent command.  

Casey Morgan OF / Arnold , FL / 2023

6-foot-1, 165-pound long frame. Solid during batting practice, the left-handed hitter had an exit velocity of 86 mph. Starts in a balanced wide stance with an active wrapping load, then uses a quick stride. Bat speed is flashed efficient, displays an uphill loose swing plane and high finish. In the round he found some barrels with loud contact. Gap to gap approach. Confident capable recorded an outfield position velocity of 80 mph; had sure hands, choppy consistent footwork, and a clean fluid exchange. Fields the ball out front. Consistent accuracy to the bag, used a short quick arm action and an-over-the-top slot. During the event, ran the 60-yard dash in 7.52.

Cole Nobles RHP / 2B / Marianna, FL / 2022

5-foot-10, 160-pound athletic physical frame. Solid confident during batting practice, the switch hitter had an exit velocity of 83 mph. Began in a crouched quiet stance with a tight compact load, then used a quick controlled stride. Bat speed is quick, shows a short simple swing plane and high good extension on his finish. Found multiple barrels with some loud contact. Line drive approach. Capable In the infield, had consistent hands, choppy rhythmic footwork, and a natural lengthy exchange. Fielded the ball out front with twitchy movement laterally. Showed decent accuracy to the bag with a high ¾ slot and a longer arm action. In the 60-yard dash, recorded a time of 7.42. Confident capable on the mound, showed quick consistent arm speed, also used a clean arm action and a high ¾ arm angle. Drop-and-drive type pitcher and shows decent effort. Balance point is tall with an in line shoulders during delivery. Lands closed with a clean balanced finish. Threw his fastball 80-82 mph. had command arm side up in the zone. Has a heavy changeup (73-74) that shows fading action and down in the zone command. His 11/5 slider (71-73) has slurvey action and decent arm side command.

Brayden Potter SS / OF / Vernon, FL / 2025

5-foot-11, 130-pound long slim build. Raw confident in the box, the right-handed hitter had a max exit velocity of 74 mph. Started in a tall quiet stance with a small load, then used a short quick stride. Bat speed was flashed developing, used a simple level swing plane and low finish. Found some barrels with some loud contact. Base hit approach. While in the infield, registered his best throw across the diamond at 63 mph; shows consistent hands, choppy feet, and a natural lengthy exchange. Raw in the outfield, his best throw of the day was clocked at 64 mph; showed a lengthy exchange, in control feet, and sure hands. Glovework was used out front. Showed decent accuracy to the base with a high ¾ slot and a longer arm action. In the 60-yard dash, recorded a time of 7.8.

Chris Romano SS / 2B / Creekside, FL / 2022

5-foot-10, 180-pound solid physical build. Athletic solid at the plate, Romano's 88 mph exit velocity ranks him 1st at the event. Began in a balanced athletic stance with a slow small load, then used a short controlled stride. Bat speed was above average efficient, had a level simple swing plane and high good extension on his finish. In his round he found multiple barrels with loud contact. Gap to gap line drive approach. Solid confident in the infield, displayed a velocity of 82 mph; had a quick clean exchange, soft sure hands, and rhythmic in control footwork. Laterally, movements were athletic and fielded the ball out front. Consistent accuracy to the bases, used a high ¾ slot with a short compact arm action. Clocked a time of 7.25 in the 60-yard dash.

Trevor Walker C / OF / Pensacola Catholic , FL / 2022

5-foot-8, 185-pound solid physical build. Solid confident during batting practice, the right-handed hitter displayed an exit velocity of 88 mph, Ranks #2 with EV at the event. Starts in a tall wide stance with a handsy active load, then uses a controlled stride. Bat speed is quick, uses a level loose swing plane and high good extension on his finish. Found multiple barrels with loud contacts. Line drive aggressive approach. Capable in the outfield, he showed the ability to make throws to the bases at 83 mph; shows sure hands, a fluid natural exchange, and choppy rhythmic feet. Fields the ball out front, movements laterally were average. While catching, his best throw downs of the day reached a max velocity of 74 mph; had a quick clean transfer, twitchy sure hands, and consistent in control footwork. consistently had pop times of 2.09-2.15. Athletic staggered setup with some flexibility. Showed an-over-the-top slot and a short quick arm action with consistent accuracy to the bag. During the event, clocked a 60 time of 7.43.
