Class of 2019 - Top Prospect

Hayden ReedHayden Reed, SS/2B, IMG Acadmey (FL)
This was our second look at Reed in the past three weeks and while his physical stature at 5-foot-6, 135-pounds does not jump of the page, his ability to play the game does. The right-handed hitter again showed an above average feel for the baseball out of a square stance. He initiates his swing with a heel-raise stride and a short stroke produced repeated line drives during a solid round of batting practice. Reed registered an 83 mph bat exit velocity and ran a 7.21 60-yard dash. He showcased active feet and a quick release while consistently playing through the baseball defensively. Reed displayed accurate 79 mph arm strength across the diamond and makes the slow roller play look routine. Fundamentally sound in all of his actions, the New Jersey native is a high academic student that will compete early for playing time with the right college program.
