PBR Florida 2020 Dream Team

Rocco Iervasi
Florida Director of Operations/Area Scout

PBR California challenged us to make a Dream Team of the best High School seniors in the state of Florida. After some thought, we came up with a lineup and pitching staff that we think could take down any other state in the country. Here is our PBR Florida 2020 Dream Team.

Lineup

1 - CF
Enrique Bradfield Jr., Vanderbilt

Leading off is the speedy Enrique Bradfield Jr. His speed on the bases will cause problems for any team and he will be able to lock down the center field position.

2 - LF Dylan Crews, LSU

Dylan Crews hits second with his ability to make consistent hard contact and get on base. Crews is a natural center fielder, but with Bradfield’s elite range in center, we’ll slide Crews to left.

3 - RF Zac Veen, Florida

The No. 1 High School prospect in the country slides into my three-hole and will be one extremely tough out. His ability to drive the ball gap-to-gap is at the top of his class and he will be asked to drive in the two talented hitters ahead of him.

4 - 1B Coby Mayo, Florida

Coby Mayo comes in as my cleanup hitter. A powerful bat that will be a tremendous run producer in this lineup.

5 - DH Brock Wilken, Wake Forest

Brock Wilken bats 6th and plays as my DH. Another powerful bat in this talented lineup. Will be able to drive in any runs that Mayo did not.

6 - SS Mac Horvath, North Carolina

With three shortstops in my infield, Horvath gets the nod at the position. Physical hitter that has developed nicely over the years should slide in well in this lineup.

7 - C Jackson Miller, Wake Forest

One of the best catchers in the 2020 class slides in batting 7th. Swings the bat well from the left side. Athletic behind the plate with a quick, loose arm.

8 - 2B Colby Halter, Florida

A natural shortstop, Halter slides over to second. Another solid lefty bat in this lineup with ability to hit gap-to-gap.

9 - 3B Yohandy Morales, Miami

Morales is strong defensively at short, but with his 6-foot-4, 195 pound frame, we’ll slide him to third. Compact swing from the right side with power potential.

Pitchers

SP - RHP
Carson Montgomery, Florida State

Montgomery gets the start for Florida as he has the making of a front-line starter. Mid 90’s fastball with advanced feel for off-speed.

RP - LHP Timmy Manning, Florida

Manning sits low 90’s from the left side. Above average offspeed stuff with the ability to throw them in any count.

RP - RHP Victor Mederos, Miami

Mederos has electric stuff with a fastball up to 97 mph. He would be a nightmare for hitters to face out of the bullpen in this scenario.

RP - RHP Alejandro Rosario, Miami

Like Mederos, Rosario’s stuff is electric and up to 97 mph. The two would be lights out coming out of the pen for the Florida Dream Team.

Reserves

C
Carlos Perez, Miami

Like Miller, Carlos Perez is one of the best catchers in the 2020 class. Switch hitter that can really swing it from both sides. Quick behind the plate as well.

SS/RHP Jordan Carrion, Florida

Carrion is one of the top two-way players in the class. Low 90’s fastball on the mound. Above average defensively at short and can swing the bat well.

OF Brandon Fields, South Carolina

Fields comes in as our fourth outfielder. Extremely athletic and physical. Power potential. Well above average arm in the outfield as well.
