Prep Baseball Report is excited for the return of Player of the Year Awards, presented by Big League Chew, after the 2020 season was cut short and 2021 generated some incredible individual moments and performances throughout Florida. As the spring high school season comes to a close, Prep Baseball Report is excited to announce one player who emerged ahead of the competition at all levels in the state. This player has been selected not only for their outstanding statistical numbers, but also for their overall effect on their high school program.

2022 Sal Stewart

Stewart, a two-sport athlete, had himself a tremendous Junior season on the diamond. Batting .534 over 123 plate appearances. Stewart collected 47 hits, 40 RBI, and 45 runs scored, as well as an extraordinary 17 home runs, 13 doubles, and 2 triples. Sal helped lead Westminster Christian all the way to the 3A Florida State Title Game.

Sal Stewart’s all-around performance, as well as the impact he has had on Westminster Christian, has earned him the 2021 Prep Baseball Report Florida Player of the Year honors.

Sal has been selected by the staff of Prep Baseball Report of Florida. The team of PBR area scouts who covered the high school baseball season throughout the spring selected Stewart amongst a strong group of candidates from across the state. The Prep Baseball Report staff has been diligently scouting and covering games at diamonds across the state this spring to bring parents, athletes and fans the most comprehensive coverage of amateur baseball across the United States.
