OUTLOOK
Calvary Christian went 26-4 last season and ended the season by winning the 4A State Championship. They return a team that is loaded with talent, but did lose some key players from 2019. Headlining that list is Christian Cairo, who was taken in the 4th Round of the 2019 MLB Draft. He led the team with a .451 batting average last season. Calvary also loses their top three inning leaders from 2019 in Nolan Hudi (TCU), Braden Halladay (Penn State), and Josh Emerson (Liberty). While losing Cairo is a big loss, Calvary returns four of their biggest bats from last season. Pierce Chambers (TCU) batted .436 with 3 HRs and 29 RBI. Vince Smith (FSU) batted .315 with 2 HR and 23 RBI. Samuel Gordon (SCF) batted .422 with 3 HR and 18 RBI. Tommy White is one of the best hitters in the 2021 class and returns after batting .426 with 4 HRs and 36 RBI. On the mound for Calvary are two talented juniors in Jack Cebert and Tyler Dietz. They will be asked to step up after having smaller roles last season. Calvary Christian has reloaded with tons of talent and should be a force in 2020.
