Ryan Keenan, OF, 2019 (Vanderbilt)

OUTLOOK
Calvary Christian Academy comes into the 2020 season after losing a lot of talent from a team that went 25-5 and reached the State Semifinals. They lose three of their top hitters from last year in Ben Rozenblum, Ryan Keenan, and Mykanthony Valdez. They also lose two of their top pitchers in Irving Carter and Skylar Gonzalez. However, Calvary still has plenty of talent returning to have another strong season. They return their ace and one of the best pitchers in the country in junior Andy Painter (Florida). Painter led the team in innings last season and pitched to a 7-2 record with a 1.43 ERA with 77 strikeouts. On offense, the Eagles gain a talented transfer in senior Kishon Frett. They bring back their team captain, Dante Girardi (FIU), who batted .393 last season. Also returning is fellow senior Kyle Tako (FGCU). Tako batted .321 with 3 HRs in 2019. Juniors Ty Hollandsworth and Jonathan Lane round out what will be a very talented lineup in 2020. Despite losing some key talent from 2019, the Eagles are once again in position to make a run at a state championship.
