Preseason Classic: IMG Academy v Treasure Coast - MVP Heston Tole

The final day of the 2020 Preseason Classic was filled with excitement and scoring, but game one didn’t start off that way as we had an early pitcher’s duel between IMG’s Heston Tole and Treasure Coast’s Bryce McBride. Tole (Arkansas) and McBride (Daytona State) were both up to 89 mph and dealing early as we had a scoreless tie until the 5th. Once McBride was replaced, IMG’s bats started to come alive. Their scoring was capped off by a no doubt 2-run homer from 2020 UNC commit Mac Horvath.
IMG would go on to win this one 8-0 backed by their offense and stellar performances on the mound by Heston Tole and uncommitted 2020 Brandon Llewellyn. Tole is our MVP of Game 7 as he went 5 shutout innings, allowing only two hits with 5 strikeouts.

Scouting Report
2/15/16 - Tole, an Arkansas commit, was 85-89 working three pitches consistently for strikes. Pitched 5 shutout innings while allowing only 2 hits and recording 5 strikeouts.
03/30/18- Arkansas recruit. Tall, projectable frame standing at 6-foot-4, 185 pounds with long legs. Threw a strong game where he induced multiple groundouts to go along with seven strikeouts, shutting out the opposing lineup for six innings. Simple delivery throwing out of the high ¾ slot. Featured a fastball that mostly sat 81-84 mph, touching 85 along with a slider that showed depth at 75-77 mph and a 72-73 mph changeup. Should see some jumps in velocity as he continues to fill out his frame.
