The nightcap on Wednesday evening saw Palm Harbor and Central Pointe faceoff. The Hurricanes of Palm Harbor scored early and often and used superb pitching to down Central Pointe 12-0 in a five inning contest.

Pat Keenan got Palm Harbor on the board first with a bases loaded single, scoring Dustin Low who had reached on a softly hit single of his own. Central Pointe was one out away from getting out of the jam when Nick Ficarrotta banged a ball off the left field wall for a bases clearing double, making it 4-0.

The Hurricanes added four more runs in the top half of the second. Tanner Mink (South Florida recruit) was the first to add to the lead with his RBI double. His twin brother, Hunter Mink (Florida recruit), then added an opposite field single. A walk to Keenan loaded the bases for Gunner Wilson. Wilson drove one into the outfield, scoring two runs. Ficarrotta added to the lead with a RBI single, his fourth run driven in on the day.

Palm Harbor starting pitcher LHP Andrew Booth made quick work of the Central Pointe offense, allowing no hits and only one base runner in his three innings of work.

After a scoreless third inning, Palm Harbor tacked on three more runs in the top half of the fourth. Keenan drove in his second run of the day, while Jake Mummau added his first single and another run in the inning.

Central Pointe were able to pick up their first hit of the day in the bottom of the fifth on Adonis Javier’s single. However, Palm Beach closer Mitch Farris slammed the door shut, striking out the next three batters and securing the 12-0 victory.

Offensively, Palm Beach was led by Dustin Low (2-for-3), Tanner Mink (1-for-3, 2B, RBI), Hunter Mink (2-for-3), Pat Keenan (2-for-3, 2 RBI) and Nick Ficarrotta (2-for-3, 2B, 4 RBI).
