TOP PLAYERS
Name, Position, Class (College Commitment)
Jeremy Cook, LHP, 2017 (Miami)
Alex Hernandez, C, 2017 (Nova Southeastern)
Ricky Presno, 2B, 2017 (Central Florida)
Roberto Pena, 3B/RHP, 2018 (Florida)
Arrison Perez, INF/RHP, 2017 (Barry)
Nick Davila, RHP, 2017 (Hillsborough CC)

X-FACTOR
Jeremy Cook. A Miami recruit, Cook is a 6-foot 170-pound LHP whose fastball sits 83-85 touching 87 with a 74 mph slider. Cook has good late arm side action, locates consistently down in the zone to both sides of the plate with a sharp late breaking slider. Good pace and presence on the mound. He will lead the way of a talented and deep pitching staff.

KEY PLAYERS LOST
LHP Dylan O'Connell (Florida Atlantic)
OF Eric Rivera (Florida Atlantic)
RHP Nick Macdonald (Alabama State)

OUTLOOK
Perennial powerhouse Charles W Flanagan returns six varsity starters from a year where they fell in the Divisional Playoff. The pitching staff this year will be led by senior LHP and Miami commit Jeremy Cook. Cook looks to build on his 3-1 record with 3 saves last year in 32.2 IP while striking out 39 with a 1.93 ERA. The team will look to Cook and other young arms to replace their top two starters from last year, Dylan O'Connel and Nicholas Macdonald, who combined for 12 of the teams 17 wins. Offensively, the Falcons return two experienced infielder in Ricky Presno and Arrison Perez. Presno, a Central Florida commit, was second on the team in RBI's while hitting .284 last season. Perez, a Barry commit, has a lean athletic projectable body on smaller frame. Solid actions in infield with enough arm and quick release. A loose quick bat with a good plane producing a .258 average and tied with the team lead with 2 home runs. Junior Roberto Pena, a Florida recruit, looks to make a big impact on both sides of the ball this season. Pena has a strong lower half and creates a lot of bat speed with a good path and the ball jumps off of the bat.  He also has shown a strong arm at 85-86 mph on the mound. Overall, a strong returning core and some young talent should help the Falcons compete for a District title and beyond.
