Line drive type stroke.

AJ Chacon, LHP, Tampa Catholic, 2016

He has a low ¾ arm slot and throws across his body, this produces arm side run on his 80-82 mph fastball. He has an average slider that breaks pretty late when he keeps it down. Occasionally works under it and gets around it. Has a slurvey type break at 74-75 mph. He competes well on the mound, 5 2/3 IP, 3 K's, 1 ER against Berkeley Prep.

Throws RH from OF and throws LH from 1B. Has decent actions at 1B. Swing has quickness and strength. Has big power from both sides of the plate with a lot more power to come. Shows present bat speed. Has a handsy swing. Really throws the barrel. Swing has some length with leverage. A very unique athlete. Ran a 6.5, 60. His tools will profile more in OF. Has tools to become a 2017 draft. Will benefit from reps and instruction. Very high ceiling. Mother was an Olympic sprinter and Father played football at UF. Is homeschooled and doesn't play on a HS team in the Spring. Will play travel ball in summer.
