Super 60 Breakout Candidates

Nathan Rode and PBR Staff

The 2021 Super 60 is set for Sunday, Feb. 7. Since its inception in 2005, many players have put their names on the national radar with standout performances. This year’s roster is loaded, possibly the best the event has ever had, but there are still several players that may be flying a little under the radar and have a chance to burst onto the scene this weekend.

Anson Aroz, C, Placer HS, CA
Without metric measurements, stopwatches, and radar guns, Aroz draws attention due to his athleticism, skill, infectious style of play, and clear passion for all things baseball. Add to that all the metrics, stopwatch and radar gun numbers and we are talking about one of the nation's top catching prospects, a switch-hitting one at that. An Oregon recruit, he has long been known as an advanced defender with above average to plus grades on his receiving, blocking and overall defense. He has an above average arm and gets rid of the ball quickly. He has the ability to control the barrel from both sides with quick hands and gap power.
