TNXL & Westminster Christian Collect Wins on Day 1 of the Preseason Classic

The 2022 Preseason Classic kicked off on Monday with action between TNXL Academy and Miami Springs followed by Westminster Christian vs Cypress Creek.

TNXL got off to a strong start on offense thanks to a RBI double by Kendrey Maduro, and RBI singles by Simon Kohn and Jacob Zibin.

TNXL added four runs in the 5th to bring their total to 8 as Charles Davalan, Ashton Wilson, Kendrey Maduro, and Simon Kohn would all drive runs in.

TNXL started Nicholls State commit Mathieu Voros on the bump. He would go three innings, allowing two runs with three strikeouts while sitting 86-88 with his fastball.

On the other side, Jordan Vargas started for Miami Springs. He would allow four runs over three innings of work. On the offensive side, Miami commit Jason Torres led the way with a 3 for 4 day including a 2 RBI triple. Jesus Pena would go 2 for 4 with a RBI as well.

TNXL would go on to take the contest 8-4. They will be back on Saturday to take on Miami Chrsitian. Miami Springs will play Wednesday against Georgia Premier.

Game 2

Game 2 featured an offensive show by Westminster Christian in an 8-0 victory over Cypress Creek. Reigning PBR Florida Player of the Year Sal Stewart would lead things off with a single and add another later on. Rene Ramirez collected 2 hits on the day including a no doubt three-run homer in the 6th inning. 

Julian Hernandez got the start for WCS as was effective over 3 ⅔ innings sitting 85-87 T88. He would strike out four while allowing no runs.

Westminster will be back Tuesday to take on Georgia Premier and Cypress Creek will face The First Academy on Tuesday night.
