Players took part in a workout day on Wednesday, which will be followed by three days of games. Teams were selected regionally by PBR's local scouting staffs, with Team Mid-Atlantic being made up of the top players from Maryland, Delaware, DC, and Virginia. Here is our staff's notes on players who had standout days during game action:

-Dinwiddie 2021 SS/RHP Kevin Gunn threw a perfect inning a strikeout, fastball was 85-87. Curveball was 74-76 and he threw one 80 MPH change-up. Very fast arm, projection to his frame, breaking ball was sharp and hard, showed swing and miss.

-Princess Anne 2021 LHP Jordan Irizarry went 2 innings, striking out 3. Fastball sat 83-85, touched 86. Change-up was 72-73. Curveball was 66-68. Slider was 69-71. Lot of projection to a lanky 6-0 frame, quick easy arm action. Strike thrower with all of his pitches, breaking ball showed depth and he used it in any count. Change-up had some nice fade.

-Benedictine 2021 LHP Connor Schumann went 2 scoreless innings, punched out 2 batters. Fastball sat 83-86 and his slider was 73-77. Loose clean arm action, pitches with intent. Worked the bottom of the zone with his fastball, slider was swing and miss already with good armspeed.

-Georgetown Prep (MD) 2022 Brock Rose also went 2 scoreless innings, showed the ability to get strikeouts. Fastball 84-86, curveball was 66-69. Longer, loose arm action, easier effort to his delivery. Warmed up and then had to wait through an extend lightning delay before warming up again. Curveball had big spin and a lot of depth with hard 11/5 break.

-Greenbrier Christian 2021 1B Ethan Ott led the game off with a home run to center that was 98 off the bat and went 401 on the estimated distance. He also had an RBI single in his second at-bat on a two strike count after making an a mid-at-bat adjustment. Very strong at contact with a ton of easy power to all fields. Strong physical frame.

-Franklin County 2021 SS Michael Williams showed his short swing and quick bat as well as his outstanding footspeed today, lining a ball into left-center and putting on the jets to stretch it easily into a double.

-St. John's College 2021 C Casey Gibbs had a strong day at the plate from both sides of it. In his first at-bat, hitting righthanded, he hit the ball on the screws and flew out to deep left. In his second at-bat, hitting lefthanded, he stayed inside and lined a base hit to left-center, showing some strength after pulling his hands in to get inside the ball. Showed a good gap-to-gap approach from both sides.

-St. Christopher's 2021 SS Griffin O'Ferrall was 2-2 on the day, using his speed to beat out a groundball for infield hit and lining a single to left for another base hit. Also used his speed and baserunning skills to steal a base.

-Stafford 2021 OF Elijah Lambros reached base twice, once on a single into the right-center gap and a second time working a walk. He made a spectacular play in center, getting a great break on a ball that was lined into shallow left-center and getting to it for a diving catch.

-Fredericksburg Christian 2021 C JT Carter was 1-2 with two RBIs, including a mammoth home run to left field off of an upper 80s fastball. Showed quick hands to get his barrel to the ball and strength to drive it out of the park.

-Dulaney (MD) 2021 RHP/1B Todd Mozoki squared the ball up three times at the plate, lining out sharply to short and right field before getting one to fall for a double up the left-center gap. Made a good pick at first to end the game, hands are good and has some feel around the bag.

-St. John's 2021 OF DM Jefferson had a double down the rightfield line. Showed his speed and baserunning impact during the game with a stolen base and by scoring from second base on a groundout to short.

-St. John's 2021 OF James Wood was 1-2 with an RBI single to center, showing athleticism to adjust swing to find barrel as well as strength at contact.
