The Rode Show: Jupiter Ascenders

By Nathan Rode
National Supervisor

Being at the end of October, a number of prospects opt out of attending Jupiter. For some, it’s about missing too much school. Some pitchers are shut down for the offseason. Inevitably, other prospects seize the chance to make an impression in front of the scouts and college coaches that crowd behind the plate. Some were well established before and only raised their stock, while others introduced themselves to the PBR Draft 100 discussion. Below is a list of players that could either climb the rankings or enter the first time in the next update. You can also read about a ton of other standouts in our exhaustive coverage of the event.

Cody Bolton, RHP, Tracy HS, CA
Bolton has a lean, projectable frame at 6-foot-3, 185 pounds. He turned in a strong performance for the Indians Scout Team, allowing just one walk in three innings while striking out four. His delivery is clean and athletic with a high leg kick. He relied heavily on his fastball, which sat mostly at 90-91. He also mixed in a sharp slider at 80-81. Bolton is committed to Michigan.
