Unsigned Senior Spotlight: RHP Cooper Nelson

Our goal at Prep Baseball Report is to promote high school players, and give them the exposure they need to be able to play at the next level. With the 2020 high school season in limbo, we want to continue to be able to promote players, even when baseball is not being played. Starting today, we will be spotlighting several uncommitted seniors to help them get the exposure they need to play at the next level in 2021.
Next up is uncommitted 2020 RHP Cooper Nelson (East Lake). Nelson is one of the few uncommitted RHP's that can run his fastball up to 90 mph. He has East Lake out to a 7-3 record in 2020. Nelson ranks 125th in our Florida 2020 rankings.

Scouting Report
Currently stands at 6-foot-1, 175 pounds with a lean, athletic frame. Displayed a fastball that mostly sat 86-89 mph with plenty of movement, touching 90 early on in the first couple innings before settling in at 86-88, running it up to 89 when he needed it on a strikeout. He also mixed in a tight slider at 75-77 mph and an 80-82 mph change up with some sink. Throwing out of the ¾ slot, he creates deception in his delivery and a tough angle on right handed hitters. Pitches with confidence and fire. Strong uncommitted follow.
