This week, we turn our attention to the 2027 class for our next player rankings update. Now sophomores, the 2027's head into an important year leading up to next August 1, when they can officially start talking to colleges. We had a chance to get eyes on a great number of 2027s this fall at tournaments and the Florida Super Sophomore Games, and this class looks like it's going to be another good one here in Florida. With that said, check out our newly updated 2027 state rankings, which expanded to 150 players.

TOP-5 ANALYSIS

Chase Fuller SS / RHP / Lincoln, FL / 2027

The Number 1 player in the state continues to be FSU commit Chase Fuller. 6-foot-2, 205 pounds and still developing. The talented two-way continues to produce at a high level with even more future projection to dream on.

Max Hemenway SS / 2B / IMG Academy, FL / 2027

Hemenway, a Tennessee commit, makes his way to IMG Academy from the state of Washington. Hemenway moves well with plenty of arm to stick at short, but the left-handed bat will allow him to be right in the middle of a talented IMG lineup this spring. He showcases the ability to drive the ball from gap-to-gap, with a high likelihood of developing future power.

Samir Mohammed RHP / 1B / Jesuit, FL / 2027

Samir Mohammed continues to showcase a power arm with one of the best fastballs in his class. Standing an imposing, 6-foot-5, 230 pounds with an extremely loose delivery. Fastball will explode out of the hand at 91-93, touching 94 with arm-side run and the ability to maintain velocity deep into outings. The slider is sharp and a swing/miss pitch while the changeup has a chance to be a plus offering. Mohammed is a power bat as well with athleticism in his XL frame.

Landon Green RHP / OF / A3 Academy, FL / 2027

Another power arm in the 2027 class comes from Landon Green. An athletic mover on the mound with great extension downhill. Green explodes through his lower half to help maintain high velocities. Green touches 95 and the fastball control continues to improve each season. Green throws a harder curveball that tunnels well off the fastball and is a tough pitch to pick up.

Rylan McMahan LHP / Clay, FL / 2027

Florida commit, Rylan McMahan, rounds out our top 5. A fluid mover with a low 90s fastball from the left side. McMahan flashes starter potential with a sharp, sweeping slider to pair off his fastball. Command is spotty at times but the arm talent is for real.
