Florida 2028 Rankings Debut

Our final rankings update of 2024 will debut the Class of 2028 Rankings.
We have had our first looks at many 2028s in the last two-plus years to compile a list of 50 players for our first 2028 state rankings. This class looks to be yet another extremely talented class in Florida, with several advanced arms throughout our top ten. Take a look at the first edition of the Prep Baseball Florida 2028 Rankings.

Yariel Diaz LHP / TNXL Academy, FL / 2028Rankings State Rank: 1 / POS: 1
Coming in at #1 in the state is LHP Yariel “Lito” Diaz. Diaz is an extremely advanced southpaw with pitchability. 6-foot, 160 pounds with room to add strength. Easy mover on the mound. Fastball in the upper 80s. Diaz is a strike thrower with three pitches. The breaking ball is a sweeper with depth. Changeup is above average and may be Diaz’s best pitch. |

Bryan Mesa SS / Doral Academy, FL / 2028Rankings State Rank: 2 / POS: 1
Mesa comes in at #2 in our 2028 rankings debut. A 6-foot-1, 178-pound SS from South Florida. Mesa has a lot of projectability and has continued to grow and get stronger over the last year. Long levers at the plate with bat speed and power potential. There are quick twitch actions at the plate that keep him timed up. Mesa has a chance to be a top bat in this 2028 class. |

Aiden Kearney 3B / Hagerty, FL / 2028Rankings State Rank: 3 / POS: 1
At #3 is 3B Aiden Kearney. Kearney has some of the best power in the 2028 class. Physical 6-foot-1, 180-pound frame. Has juice to all fields and produces consistent hard-hit balls. Kearney is athletic with an above-average arm on the diamond and has been up to 90 on the mound already.

DJ Ford OF / RHP / Plant, FL / 2028Rankings State Rank: 4 / POS: 1
DJ Ford ranks #4 in the Florida 2028 class as one of the most toolsy players in the class. Ford may be the best athlete in this class. 5-foot-11, 175 pounds. 6.7 runner currently. A true center fielder with advanced range in the OF and an above-average arm. At the plate, bat speed is advanced with pull-side power potential.

Cullen Garner RHP / OF / St. Joseph Academy, FL / 2028Rankings State Rank: 5 / POS: 1
Rounding out our top 5 is RHP/OF Cullen Garner. 6-foot, 184 pounds. Athletic mover with a clean arm. Fastball up to 89 right now with plenty of life. Throws a sharp slider at 2700+ rpm. Impressive young arm with more jumps to come. At the plate, he flashes power potential with the ability to use all fields.
