2025 Georgia Preview: Brookwood Broncos

The 2025 high school baseball season is quickly approaching and as usual, excitement abounds throughout the state. Players and coaches have been working in preparation for the upcoming season and, as is the case each year, there are some very talented players and teams across Georgia.

Teams across the state have goals and aspirations to finish their seasons in the GHSA or GIAA state playoffs, but there is plenty of work to be done before that becomes reality. We hope to familiarize our readers with many of the teams across the state as we preview individual teams across Georgia. We will take you right up to first pitch this season with these team previews and by continuing our scheduled podcasts and releasing our preseason top-10 rankings in each GHSA classification and Power 25.

Each week we will be releasing our Players of the Week, updating the top-10 ranks in each GHSA classification, as well updating our Power 25 overall rankings. One thing, especially, you don’t want to miss are our scheduled podcasts with guests from across the state, as well as the recaps and previews of the big games we’re covering.

TEAM OUTLOOK

Led by one of the best pitching staffs in the state, the Broncos navigated a very tough region into a near state championship series bid in 2024. This spring, Coach Gilbert will have a brand new starting staff but return a solid core overall from last year’s lineup and will be ready to attack an equally tough region. Uncommitted senior OF Mason Archie has been a three year starter for the Broncos and will be an unquestioned leader for this year in 2025 while providing one of the best hit tools in the lineup. Senior MIF Ryan Morris is one of the few committed bats in the lineup and will provide some sneaky raw pop alongside a good glove in the dirt. A pair of brothers in junior 3B Boomer Rogozinski and sophomore SS/RHP Max Rogozinski played big roles as underclassmen last year and have a chance to hold two pivotal roles in the infield for this club this spring with real upside both at the plate and with the glove. Junior C Alexander Reyes was thrust into a big role last year after a big-time senior went down with an injury and came out ready to be one of the offensive and defensive leaders for this squad. Replacing three SEC arms is very going to be an easy task but a pair of uncommitted juniors in LHP Joseph Soto and RHP Marshall Jackson made some huge strides throughout the summer/fall and will provide real pitchability for this club. Senior RHP Cristian Mendez will bring some stability as one of the few seniors in either rotation or bullpen. Relief arms for the Broncos will be deep but inexperienced in terms of innings and will need to prove themselves. Parkview returns to a tough region with the addition of North Gwinnett as well but the Broncos will be prepared to be very competitive once again.
