2025 Georgia Preview: Collins Eagles

The 2025 high school baseball season is quickly approaching and as usual, excitement abounds throughout the state. Players and coaches have been working in preparation for the upcoming season and, as is the case each year, there are some very talented players and teams across Georgia.

Teams across the state have goals and aspirations to finish their seasons in the GHSA or GIAA state playoffs, but there is plenty of work to be done before that becomes reality. We hope to familiarize our readers with many of the teams across the state as we preview individual teams across Georgia. We will take you right up to first pitch this season with these team previews and by continuing our scheduled podcasts and releasing our preseason top-10 rankings in each GHSA classification and Power 25.

Each week we will be releasing our Players of the Week, updating the top-10 ranks in each GHSA classification, as well updating our Power 25 overall rankings. One thing, especially, you don’t want to miss are our scheduled podcasts with guests from across the state, as well as the recaps and previews of the big games we’re covering.

TEAM OUTLOOK

After almost making the state playoffs last year, the Collins Hill Eagles look to continue their winning ways with a strong senior and junior class that include some top-end talent in the region. Leading the way for this year’s Eagles squad is OF TJ Wilson and Aiden Wakefield who has proven to be a quality bat in the top-end of the line-up. Wilson and Wakefield both look to help guide this Eagles team to playoff contention in a tough region. Some of the leaders in this junior class are Atticus Joseph, who was a reliable positional player with growing confidence as the season progressed, a name to know for this spring. Hunter Sokol, a talented arm and receiver behind the dish with the ability to swing it as well is a valuable asset for this Eagles team. Now some young 2027 names to add to the watch list are Hunter Lee, Jett Beck, and Kasen Hendrix. With a roster this talented, this is a team that looks to strive for greater results than their unfortunate demise from a year ago. This team has talent and depth at every position and bats that can get hot at any moment. It will be hard to contain a team of this caliber for long, very much looking forward to watching them in 2025.
