The 2025 high school baseball season is quickly approaching and as usual, excitement abounds throughout the state. Players and coaches have been working in preparation for the upcoming season and, as is the case each year, there are some very talented players and teams across Georgia.

Teams across the state have goals and aspirations to finish their seasons in the GHSA or GIAA state playoffs, but there is plenty of work to be done before that becomes reality. We hope to familiarize our readers with many of the teams across the state as we preview individual teams across Georgia. We will take you right up to first pitch this season with these team previews and by continuing our scheduled podcasts and releasing our preseason top-10 rankings in each GHSA classification and Power 25.

Each week we will be releasing our Players of the Week, updating the top-10 ranks in each GHSA classification, as well updating our Power 25 overall rankings. One thing, especially, you don’t want to miss are our scheduled podcasts with guests from across the state, as well as the recaps and previews of the big games we’re covering.

TEAM OUTLOOK

The Falcons come into 2025 and return a ton of experience with versatility, as they look to surpass their Sweet Sixteen bid from a year ago. Leading the way for the Falcons is one of the top uncommitted junior names in the state, David Ojeda, a tool-shed of an athlete who presents an advanced skill set in all facets. At the plate, Ojeda shows a potent hit/power combo while flashing premier bat speed at (84.4). As well as anchoring CF with above-average speed clocking at a 6.74 60 while displaying present arm-strength with an OF velo of 92 MPH. Following with being a crucial asset to the bullpen as a mid to upper 80’s arm. Senior IF/OF Anthony Almeroth is a pivotal versatile piece for the club. Almeroth holds substantial projection within an athletic 6-foot, 160-pound frame as tools litter the profile. A 6.74 60 runner with above-average arm strength across the diamond at 88 MPH, in addition to flashing present hand speed (24.2) at the plate. This is a tooled up uncommitted senior name to keep an eye on for Flowery Branch this Spring. Senior C Jackson Freeman provides a massive thump with the stick as a key source of power in the heart of the order, paired with holding a strong defensive profile behind the plate. Manning the duties alongside Freeman behind the plate is senior C Antonio De La Torre, assembling a veteran catching battery to lead the pitching staff. Luke Stone, a recent Brewton-Parker College commit, brings forth a dynamic hit/speed combo to the top of the order that should pace the offense. A trio consisting of senior MIF Tyler Folkers, junior OF Parker Bourrie, and junior IF Riley Bourrie all intend to contribute reliable bats to the line-up. Sophomore RHP Riley Castenada, a consistent performer that fills up the zone, looks poised to be at the helm of the staff after gaining invaluable experience last year as a freshman. London Moshiri, a crafty LHP, returns as a top option and supplies the pitching staff with senior leadership. On paper this team has all the makings to build on their season from last year as they look to make noise in 4A.
