2025 Georgia Preview: Northgate Vikings

The 2025 high school baseball season is quickly approaching and as usual, excitement abounds throughout the state. Players and coaches have been working in preparation for the upcoming season and, as is the case each year, there are some very talented players and teams across Georgia.

Teams across the state have goals and aspirations to finish their seasons in the GHSA or GIAA state playoffs, but there is plenty of work to be done before that becomes reality. We hope to familiarize our readers with many of the teams across the state as we preview individual teams across Georgia. We will take you right up to first pitch this season with these team previews and by continuing our scheduled podcasts and releasing our preseason top-10 rankings in each GHSA classification and Power 25.

Each week we will be releasing our Players of the Week, updating the top-10 ranks in each GHSA classification, as well updating our Power 25 overall rankings. One thing, especially, you don’t want to miss are our scheduled podcasts with guests from across the state, as well as the recaps and previews of the big games we’re covering.

TEAM OUTLOOK

The Northgate Vikings come into 2025 looking to surpass their first round exit from a year ago. Senior MIF Kristopher Colton brings an impressive hit/speed combo to the top of the order. As well as supplying stout defense up the middle in the dirt. The defensive ability of Sophomore Sam Lowe pairs nicely with Colton, to create a dynamic middle infield duo for the Vikings. Lowe will be a key piece that could stick anywhere in the lineup with a present feel for the barrel in an all-fields approach. Along with being a top option out of the pen. Senior 3B/RHP Blake Moore and Junior IF/RHP Justin Cosme, both provide a thump at the plate as the heart of the order bats. Moore, a mid-80's arm with a good feel for spin, holds senior leadership in the rotation. At 6-foot-2, 195-pounds there is still plenty of projection remaining in the profile on both sides of the ball. Cosme also returns as a vital asset in the bullpen. Junior C/RHP Sam Marvin carries an all-around strong defensive profile behind the plate, and contributes a steady bat to the line-up. In addition to giving the squad quality innings out of the rotation. Junior OF Reese Cluff and sophomore IF Bryson Rambus, yield stability to the lineup and add depth. The Vikings will lean on their returning experience coupled with up and coming underclass talent, as they have a playoff run in view.
