The 2025 high school baseball season is quickly approaching and as usual, excitement abounds throughout the state. Players and coaches have been working in preparation for the upcoming season and, as is the case each year, there are some very talented players and teams across Georgia.

Teams across the state have goals and aspirations to finish their seasons in the GHSA or GIAA state playoffs, but there is plenty of work to be done before that becomes reality. We hope to familiarize our readers with many of the teams across the state as we preview individual teams across Georgia. We will take you right up to first pitch this season with these team previews and by continuing our scheduled podcasts and releasing our preseason top-10 rankings in each GHSA classification and Power 25.

Please keep checking back throughout the season as we will be your one-stop shop for everything related to high school baseball across the state.

Each week we will be releasing our Players of the Week, updating the top-10 ranks in each GHSA classification, as well updating our Power 25 overall rankings. One thing, especially, you don’t want to miss are our scheduled podcasts with guests from across the state, as well as the recaps and previews of the big games we’re covering.

TEAM OUTLOOK

After a very successful season in 2024, the Piedmont Academy Cougars look to continue their winning ways with a strong senior and junior class that include some top-end talent in the region. Leading the way for this year’s Cougars squad is Brayden Ross who hit .333 and tossed a solid 1.95 ERA last spring. Chase Taylor, hit .365 with 20 stolen bases and is a 2x All State and All Region player. For the 2026 grads, OF Jack Adams and Zach Simmons look to make things happen in the outfield and on the mound with experience in this lineup from a year ago. Another top junior for this Piedmont Academy team, Jamus Wingate, who had 26 strikeouts in 20 innings pitched Hit .335 in Region play, another All Region player for Coach Moody last season. With a roster this talented, this is a team that looks to strive for greater results than their unfortunate demise from a year ago. This team has talent and depth at every position and bats that can get hot at any moment. It will be hard to contain a team of this caliber for long, very much looking forward to watching them in 2025.
