2025 Georgia Preview: Seckinger Jaguars

The 2025 high school baseball season is quickly approaching and as usual, excitement abounds throughout the state. Players and coaches have been working in preparation for the upcoming season and, as is the case each year, there are some very talented players and teams across Georgia.

Teams across the state have goals and aspirations to finish their seasons in the GHSA or GIAA state playoffs, but there is plenty of work to be done before that becomes reality. We hope to familiarize our readers with many of the teams across the state as we preview individual teams across Georgia. We will take you right up to first pitch this season with these team previews and by continuing our scheduled podcasts and releasing our preseason top-10 rankings in each GHSA classification and Power 25.

Each week we will be releasing our Players of the Week, updating the top-10 ranks in each GHSA classification, as well updating our Power 25 overall rankings. One thing, especially, you don’t want to miss are our scheduled podcasts with guests from across the state, as well as the recaps and previews of the big games we’re covering.

TEAM OUTLOOK

The 2024 region champs come into 2025 looking to defend their title backed by a strong senior class. Senior SS Jin Kasuya returns as an impact player that delivers consistency on both sides of the ball. Kasuya shows a budding hit-tool in an all-fields approach and looks to power the offense once again this spring. A savvy defender at the 6 and the club's defensive leader. The defensive prowess of Kasuya and senior 2B Nicholas Fernandez equips the Jaguars with an electric pairing in the middle infield. Fernandez, an Otterbein University commit, is a high .OBP bat along with being a table setter at the top of the order. The duo of seniors, CF Andrew Carr and C Aiden O'Brien, give the squad experience in the middle of the field. While reinforcing the lineup and contributing dependability throughout. Sophomore RHP Landon Niemotka lines up to be the ace of the staff. With the ability to mix well, while showing a good feel for spin. A pair of uncommitted seniors, Harry Pirkle and Shia Carnish, polish off the rest of the rotation. They bring veteran experience to the bump, while seeking to provide quality innings for the club. Pirkle occupies a corner outfield spot and issues a steady bat to the line-up. Uncommitted senior RHP Jack Kehnle will be a vital element to the pitching staff as the top option in the bullpen. Kehnle has the potential to rack up a heavy number of saves for the Jaguars in '25. Returning an experienced group in the middle of the field, Seckinger appears to have the components to get back into the State Playoffs and wrangle for another region crown in 2025.
