Fall Upperclass Games: Preview

By Andy Sroka
Staff Writer, Associate Scout

On Sunday, Nov. 10, the PBR Georgia team is headed to Loudermilk Field at Piedmont College in Demorest, Ga., to host the Fall Upperclass Games. Yesterday, our own Phil Kerber outlined some of the top infielders to watch and know ahead of Sunday’s showcase, which you can find here, while state scouting director Blake Davis previewed the day's outfielders, pitchers, and catchers. Today, we’re outlining what you can expect from the Upperclass Games as a whole.

This showcase will provide players in the state a platform to perform in front of our staff to earn invitations to future invitation-only events, like the Super 60 Pro Showcase summer events like the Top Prospect Games.

For Sunday, the event is by invitation only, for prospects in high school classes 2020 and 2021. Approximately, there are 90 players already set to attend – and registration is still open. You can request an invite by clicking here.

The event will go on as follows:

SCHEDULE

On Sunday morning (specific times listed in the itinerary below), all participating position players will gather to participate in the pre-game workout. All position players will check-in, go through our introduction, stretch and then run the 60-yard dash. From there, they’ll rotate through our hitting station and take defensive reps before breaking for gameplay.

Pitcher-only participants will arrive to check-in an hour before their respective game start times, listed below. Click here to view which of the four team rosters you have been named to. Team No. 1 will play No. 2 at approximately 11:45 a.m. and game two between Team Nos. 3 and 4 will start at approximately 1:30 p.m. The games are simulated in play, to hasten live action and to keep pitch count in check. Following their respective gameplay, players may leave.
