Milton v Lakeside

Logan Jones, RHP, Milton, 2020
Samord commit. 6-foot-4 200-pounds. Ideal athletic frame. Strong lower half, physically mature body. Jones impresses with his easy, effortless delivery. Everything is synced up, and on time. Lower-half and upper-half connects well. Hips stay closed in the stride, and has a strong front leg plant. The FB is constient at 86089. Does not spike, or drop. SL got better as the game went on. Plus SL for a 2020. Strong spin, and late break at 75-77. Mature mindset on the mound. Has a plan and executes. Has the ability to impact right away as, or a potential draft guy. Either way, a promising future for Logan Jones.

Lambert v Hillgrove (3/5/20)

Max DeJong, RHP, Hillgrove, 2020
Georgia commit. 6-foot-1, 195-pound right-handed pitcher, strong, sturdy frame, room for added muscle and firming up in some areas. Arm works clean on the back-side, hiding well on the back-side to an over-the-top slot, quick arm speed. Drop and drive delivery, really rides lower half down the mound, works on-line, lands and finishes square. Fastball, 87-89, gets downhill with. Curveball, 11/5 shape, worked primarily to the glove-slide, got swing and misses with, 74-77.

Trace Cate, 3B, Hillgrove, 2020
Uncommitted. 6-foot, 170-pound right-handed hitting third baseman and outfielder, high waist, athletically built. Takes an open stance, long reverse toe-tap stride, high hands load back while he brings barrel vertical, good balance throughout. Gap-to-gap type hitter, smooth swing, barrel works mostly uphill, looks to elevate and drive the ball. Against Lambert, made consistent hard contact, collected two hits, a walk, and three runs batted in, in for four at-bats, including a triple and an infield single.

Will Hensley, OF, Lambert, 2020
Uncommitted. 6-foot, 190-pound left-handed hitting outfielder, strong, proportionally built frame, above-average athlete. Takes a crouching, athletic setup with a wide base, toe-tap stride, hands drop as he brings the barrel vertical. Barrel works short and quick to the zone, smooth swing, consistently found the barrel and drove the ball with force, quick hands. Showed a good feel at the plate, battled in a left-on-left matchup resulting in a hard hit line drive through the left-side of the infield. Also drove a ball into the right-center gap that would have been a triple had Hensley not lost his footing rounding second, resulting in an easy double.

Garrett Hollenbeck, C, Lambert, 2020
North Georgia commit. 5-foot-10, 185-pound right-handed hitting catcher, strong, sturdy frame, solid build for a backstop. Crouching setup at the plate with an athletic bend in his knees, hands load back as he brings the barrel vertical, high leg lift stride, good balance throughout. Strong hands/wrists help him drive the ball and create hard contact, swing works mostly level through the zone with quickness, there is some length in his swing, overall strength and power overcomes this. Blasted a solo home run to the opposite field over the right center fence, 98 exit velocity per TrackMan.

Chapel Hill V Bremen (3/5/20)

Blake Matthews, OF, Bremen, 2022
6-foot-2, 185-pound right-handed hitting outfielder, lean, athletic frame, projectable build, will put on more strength and size as he continues to mature. Wide, crouching setup, brings barrel vertical on load, leg lift stride, good balance throughout. Swing works smooth and level though the zone, gets long arms extended, pulls off some on finish, strength in frame allows for Matthews to drive the ball and produce backspin. Led off the game against Chapel Hill by going opposite field over the right fielders head for a triple. Follow prospect.

North Atlanta v Northview (3/5/20)

Wiley Hartley, RHP, North Atlanta, 2020
Campbell football recruit as a QB, but could definitely prove helpful on the mound. 6-foot-3, 199-pound right-handed pitcher, broad shoulders on an athletic frame, strength throughout frame. Arm works short and ultra quick to a ¾ slot, hides the ball well on the back-side, repeats well. Drop and drive delivery, gets into his strong lower half, sets up on the first base side of the rubber, striding towards third base, finishes with an aggressive cross over, walking off the mound towards first base. Pounded the strike zone with a fastball and slider combo. Fastball sat 86-89 with late run and downhill angle. Slider, hard downward action, bite, swing and miss type pitch, 76-80.

Harrison v Sprayberry (3/5/20)

Bryce Clark, RHP, Harrison, 2020
Uncommitted. 6-foot-2, 160-pound right-handed pitcher, lean, athletic frame, high-waist. Arm action is short on the back-side, hides ball, quick to get to high ¾ slot, repeats well. Quick drop and drive delivery, works on-line, follows through quickly with his backside, crossing over towards first base. Controlled the zone with fastball and slider action. Fastball sat 84-86 in the first inning, settled in at 82-84, running action. Slider, tight, downward action, was getting swing and misses against Sprayberry before the game was called due to fog.

Austin Wright, OF, Sprayberry, 2021
6-foot-3, 175-pound left-handed hitting outfielder, athletic, projectable build, strength throughout frame. Swing works long to and through the zone, quick bat speed, takes a power approach, looking to elevate and drive the ball, struggled with pitches inside due to long swing path, but has the overall strength and bat speed to be a power threat at the plate.
