Allatoona v Mill Creek (2/25/20)

Keaton Anthony, RHP, Mill Creek, 2020
Iowa commit. 6-foot-4, 210-pound right-handed pitcher, big, strong frame, especially in his lower half. Arm works long and loose, showing wide on the back-side, accelerates quickly to a ¾ slot, repeats slot well, works downhill. Tall and fall delivery, keeps his momentum working on-line towards home, producing considerable force with his lower half, finishes square. Fastball sat 85-87, touched 88, pounded the zone with good angle. Slider, 73-75, tight spin, cutter-like action, short lateral movement, generated weak contact. Had some early command issues, but settled in for a five inning start. Allowed one run in the first inning without allowing a hit, then went four scoreless innings. Gave up two hits, both singles. In total, over five inning, struck out two batters, walked two, hit one. Produced eight ground outs and four fly outs. Also swings a power bat at the plate.

Alek Boychuk, C, Mill Creek, 2020
South Carolina commit. 6-foot-1, 205-pound right-handed hitting backstop, athletically built with advanced strength, one of the top rated catchers in the country for his superior defensive abilities, has really swung a hot bat to begin the season. Has an athletic stance with bend in his knees and an upright upper half. Quick hands whip the barrel, gains extension through the zone, drives the ball to all fields. Has a relaxed feel when he is in the box, rarely gets panicked. Went 2-for-3 on the day with two singles, both off breaking balls. Sat back on one, taking it to right field and then squared another up the middle. Defensively, did not get challenged by runners on the basepaths. Is flexible in his lower half and ankles allowing him to sink into a crouching position. Hands receive softly, advanced feel for framing of the ball, blocks well, keeping the ball in front of him.

Tim Simay, SS, Mill Creek, 2021
Mississippi commit. 6-foot, 160-pound right-handed hitting middle infielder, long, lanky frame, highly athletic with quick twitch muscle, over the past year has really grown into his frame and added more strength and size. At the plate, athletic, wide stance, hands load back smoothy, short stride, great balance throughout. Uses the whole field with a smooth, athletic swing, gets extended, routinely squared the baseball up, ball jumps off the bat. Collected two hits in the game, both two-strike singles, saw breaking balls and made the correct adjustments, did not get fooled. Puts pressure on the defensive with aggressive baserunning, always looking to take the extra base or steal. Defensively, has range to both sides and advanced body control, made a number of nice plays, including a run through on a slow roller. High follow prospect.

Landon DePratter, OF, Mill Creek, 2021
6-foot-1, 180-pound right-handed hitting outfielder and corner infielder, strong build with athleticism, still filling out his frame. Saw him a number of times throughout the summer and fall where he really stood out for the Georgia Roadrunners for his offensive impact, has carried it over to the spring. Has an aggressive swing, barrel works uphill, looks to elevate the ball and do damage with each swing. Gave Mill Creek the decisive run in their 2-1 victory over Allatoona with a sacrifice fly to center field, scoring the runner from third base.
West Forsyth v Denmark (2/25/20)

Luke Fernandez, RHP, West Forsyth, 2022
Projectable 6-foot-3, 190-pound right-handed pitcher, big, strong frame with even more to come. Arm works short, loose, and clean out of a high ¾ slot with whippy hand speed, ultra quick arm speed. An overall powerful pitcher, uses the strength in his legs well in a drop and drive delivery. Controls the zone with a fastball and curveball combination. Fastball sat 86-88, touched 89, gets downhill with his fastball and an located around the zone. Curveball, swing and miss type pitch, 11/5 shape, has bite and is hard to recognize out of the hand, buckled a number of knees in his outing against Denmark. Also offered up a straight changeup at 75-77. High follow arm.

Pope v Etowah (2/25/20)

James Tibbs III, OF, Pope, 2021
Florida State commit. 6-foot, 185-pound left-handed hitting outfielder, solid athlete with strength through his frame, profiles as a corner outfielder at the next level. Have seen him numerous times this spring already and there is one thing Tibbs always does, hit, and hit the ball hard. A predominately pull-side hitter, the ball jumps off the barrel, making any ball he hits a difficult one to handle, whether it be in the air or on the ground. Explosive lower half coupled with very quick hands and a great feel for the barrel, makes Tibbs one of the best hitters in the 2021 class.

Pickens v Sonoraville (2/25/2020)

Brady Moore, SS, Pickens County, 2020
Coastal Carolina commit. Uber athletic SS. Actions in the INF are as good as they come. Arm is strong, works well. 3 sport athlete in high school. Really strong base, there is pop in the swing. Line drive approach, does not try to do too much. Toe-tap stride with really good rhythm. Had a walk-off 2B down the line. Confident in all aspects of his game, all around competitor. Could be an impact player right away at the next level. His athleticism could allow him to play anywhere on the field.

Colby James, RHP, Pickens County, 2020

Oglethorpe commit. Mid-size stocky frame. 2-way player. FB is 80-84 T85. Really good command. Seemed like he had a plan and knew where he wanted to put it. He went CG with 14K’s. Showed command for all 3 pitches. Flipped the CB with 12-6 action. Slower velocity really kept hitters off balance. Had them guessing. Strong lower half with good back leg strive and hip movement shows more velo to come. Worked well out of the wind-up and stretch.
Tanner Folds, LHP/DH, Sonoraville, 2021

Penn State commit. 6-foot-1 190-pounds. Strong, athletic, 2-way player. Pop in the swing, simple stride with fast hands. Competitive player. Did not get to see him on the mound. The frame projects well. Showed good discipline at the plate. Pitcher was throwing a slower 12-6 CB that he struggled with early. He was disciplined and looked for his pitch to drive, and did not chase in his later at-bats.
Mount Paran v North Cobb Christian (2/25/2020)

Aidan Moza, RHP, North Cobb Christian, 2021
UAB recruit. Came out of the bullpen in a tight game. Went 5 innings, striking out 2, picking up the save. Arm looks quick as ever, with sharpness to two-pitch-mix. Fastball sat 85-89, T90. Slider at 75-77 stayed in the zone and played very well.

Cam Collier, 3B/RHP, Mount Paran, 2023
Louisville commit. The 6-foot, 190 pound third-baseman continued to swing the bat well. Hit the ball hard in three straight at bats, continuing to show ability to hit the ball hard to all fields. Had a one-hop double to left-center, a hard hit single up-the-middle, and a long fly out to RF in consecutive at bats. Barrel showing thump and stays easy through the zone.
Marist v Hillgrove (2/25/2020)

Andrew Mannelly, OF/1B, Marist, 2022
6-foot, 185 pounds; thick frame and considerable lower-half strength. Left-handed hitter swung the bat well; ball jumped off the bat. Barrel works heavy. Lined a single up the middle on a low FB. Hits from a wide base, toe-tap timing. Stays through the ball and does not get cheated.

Liam Sullivan, LHP/1B, Marist, 2020
Georgia recruit. Imposing figure at 6-foot-6, 220 pounds. Left-handed bat that hits from a tall, open stance. Controlled gather with a short finish. Has big power in the box. Has shown to be a top arm, as well.
Tyler Hare, OF, Marist, 2021

Miami (OH) commit. 6-foot-1, 208 pounds. Smooth left-handed bat with an athletic stance and upright posture in the box. Calm pre-pitch tempo with moderate leg kick. Head stays on contact, hit a ball to the warning track in RF on a low FB. Strongly-built athlete.
