Georgia 2025 Rankings - Inside the Top-10

Phil Kerber
Georgia Scouting Director

PBR Georgia unveiled its initial Class of 2025 rankings this week. The first iteration of rankings for this particular class is sure to change over the coming months and years, as these young prospects continue to develop and progress. With that being said, we want to introduce you to the top-10 prospects in Georgia’s 2025 class.

At the very top of the state rankings is RHP Jax Bishop (Calhoun; Tennessee commit). Bishop is a lean 6-foot-1, 158-pounds with plenty of maturing left to do. On the mound, he has a loose, whip-like arm, working from a ¾ slot. The delivery has little effort in it. Bishop can comfortably sit in the mid-80s with his fastball, running it up to 89 mph. He couples this with a slider that shows good depth, and swing and miss potential in the low 70s. While the stuff is advanced, it is Bishop’s command at this age that stands out. He can pound the zone, and work both pitches to all parts. The ease of effort, loose arm and athleticism (6.9 runner), all indicate Bishop will continue to trend upwards.

The top ranked position player is OF Cannon Goldin (Buford; South Carolina commit). Goldin is an elite athlete in this class. A top of the order left-handed hitter, he possesses ultra quick hands and the barrel control to pepper the entire field with line drives. The maturity he approaches at-bats with is beyond his age. Goldin is never out of an at-bat, he has a consistency about him that sets him apart. Once on base, the speed is obvious. Goldin can fly around the bases and has the instincts to put pressure on the defense at all things. The speed and instincts translate to the outfield, where Goldin can track the ball down with the best.

Coming in just behind Goldin at No. 3 is SS Eli Pitts (North Gwinnett; South Carolina commit). Pitts stands out in many of the same ways that Goldin does. He is a high level athlete with ultra quick hands and bat speed from the right-side. Pitts 6-foot, 175-pound has just begun to fill out, and he will carry real strength. Up the middle, he has plenty of arm and range to stick at the next level and beyond. The No. 4 prospect in the state is OF/SS Austin Killingsworth (Starr’s Mill). Killingsworth is a quick twitch 5-foot-10, 160-pounds. He possesses big tools across the board, capable of putting up gaudy stats. Killingsworth has elite speed, a big arm in the outfield, and a powerful bat to go along with it.

Rounding out the top-5 is SS Jin Kayusa (Mountain View, South Carolina commit). Kasuya is as steady as they come up the middle at shortstop. He has a natural feel for the game, and the innate ability to be in the right place at the right time. His feel also carries over to the batter's box. Kasuya is a disciplined hitter and can make pitchers pay with a quick bat and strong hands.

The top-ranked two-way prospect in the state comes in at No. 6, 3B/RHP Dayson Griffis (Appling County). At 5-foot-11, 185-pounds, Griffis has power all throughout his game. At the plate, he consistently creates hard contact and can elevate and drive the ball with real force. On the mound, Griffis has a lively fastball that he can run into the upper 80s.

SS/RHP Andrew Purdy (Calhoun) enters the rankings at No. 7 and the second prospect hailing from Calhoun High School in our top-10. Purdy was a member of Team Georgia at the 2021 Junior Future Games and impressed so much that he earned a spot start at the Future Games against Team Florida. A projectable athlete at 6-foot-2, 190-pounds, Purdy has a smooth left-handed swing that will be a major weapon as he physically fills out. On the mound, he can presently run his fastball into the mid-80s with much more on the way. He compliments it with three offspeed pitches that all play.

Another member from Team Georgia slots in at No. 8, C/OF Brady Chirstman (Mary Persons). A strong athlete at 5-foot-11, 175-pounds, his athleticism allows for him to move interchangeably between catcher and center field, and field both positions at a high level. Christman packs a punch in his compact frame. He presently drives the ball middle/pull while also having the awareness to be able to use the entire field when it suits him.

A third consecutive member of Team Georgia comes in at No. 9, SS Terrance Bowen (Alexander). Bowen oozes athleticism out of his 6-foot, 155-pound frame. He keeps his swing short and simple, using his quick hands to get extension and drive the ball gap-to-gap.

Closing out our top-10 is C/RHP Camden Hodge (Winder-Barrow). The left-handed hitting backstop is one of the toughest outs at the plate. He has an advanced approach, able to extend at-bats with good feel for the barrel. When he gets something in his wheelhouse, the ball jumps off the bat. Hodge can offer his services on the mound, working in the low 80s from a low ¾ slot.
