No. 21 North Cobb vs McEachern
March 9, 2020

Powder Springs, GA - The Indians of McEachern hosted the 21st-ranked team in this week’s Georgia Power 25, to open region play. Scoring was at a premium, early, as McEachern (4-3) grabbed an early 4-2 lead, but a big 6-run third inning by North Cobb (9-2) thwarted any McEachern lead for the rest of the game. North Cobb took a 15-4 victory on the road.

North Cobb struck first in the top of the first inning with a balk call that would bring in Gavin Smith, who walked to lead off the game. Georgia Tech commit, Harry Ford, set the tone for his night in the top of the first by lacing an RBI single to put his team up 2-0 after the first frame.

McEachern used their second inning to at-bats to answer, scoring four runs, to take a 4-2 lead. Singles by Jaylen Dickey and Kyle Jordan, followed by a walk by Kolby King set the table for 2022 shortstop, Bryce Archie. Archie drove a first-pitch fastball to the left-center wall for a bases-clearing double.

The McEachern lead did not last long, as the North Cobb offense came alive to put up six runs in the top of the third inning. A lead-off double by Ford started the rally.

Cole Wright drove Ford in, two batters later.

The very next hitter, 2022 Ashten Bostwick, tied the game at four with an RBI double to the warning track.

Starting pitcher, Nathan Williams, helped his cause out with a 3 RBI double to put North Cobb in command for the remainder of the game.

North Cobb and McEachern will square-off again on Wednesday at North Cobb at 5:55 PM.
