PBR Georgia Player of the Week: LHP Luke Dotson & OF Ace Williamson

Phil Kerber
Georgia Scouting Director

The first round of the GHSA Playoffs is in the books, and with it, we have our first round Player of the Week awards to give out. The postseason is a special time. With all the pressure and intensity, players often raise their game and put in eye popping performances. This week, both of our Player of the Week award winners did just that.

Let's start with our Pitcher of the Week, LHP Luke Dotson (Mount Paran; Florida State). Dotson, facing St. Francis, was perfect in a five inning run rule game. The sophomore struck out every single batter he faced, and did not allow a single runner on base. His line for the game read: 5.0 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 15 K. Mount Paran swept the series against St. Francis, and will play Hebron Christian in round two.

Our Hitter of the Week had one of the best weeks we have seen submitted. Uncommitted OF Ace Williamson (Carrollton, 2022) went off in two games against Habersham Central in the first round. Williamson went 6-for-8 with three home runs, 11 runs batted in and four runs scored. Carrollton swept the series and will face Lassiter in the second round.
