PBR Georgia Players of the Week: Connor Shouse, Logan Floyd, and Eli Mullis

PBR Georgia
Staff

Each week coaches will be able to nominate their players for Player Of The Week. We will have one position player and one pitcher. We will highlight other top performers in our Diamond Notes articles. Check back each week to see whose names make the list.

Position Player

2024, Connor Shouse, SS/RHP, Pickens
Georgia Tech commit. Shouse has been on a tear for his junior campaign. In week 3 he had 16 at bats with 4 singles, 4 doubles, 1 triple and a homerun. He tallied 7 RBI's and scored 10 runs. Those RBI's made him the career RBI record holder at Pickens High School. With him only being a junior that may be a record that will stay unbroken for years to come. Take a look at Shouse at our Preseason All-State event in January below.

Pitcher

2023, Logan Floyd, RHP, Darlington
Carson Newman commit. Logan got the ball for 2 starts in week 3. One on Monday against Paulding County and one on Saturday against Fannin County. In his first start he threw a complete game, and on Saturday he was one batter away from another complete game. His totals were 11.2 innings pitched with 2 earned runs, 11 strikeouts and 1 walk. He walked away with 2 wins on the week, which is hard to come by the competitive Georgia High School landscape. I should also mention he is hitting .609 on the season with 3 home runs and 15 RBI. Floyd is going out strong for his senior year, and will look to carry the stats over at Carson-Newman next year.

2-Way Player

2023, Eli Mullis, C/1B/RHP, Bleckley County
Uncommitted. Mullis is also QB1 for Bleckley, so the 2 way player of the week is fitting for him. Against Dodge County on Friday he threw a 5 inning shutout with 12 strikeouts on 58 pitches, 44 of those being strikes. Then at the plate he went 2 for 2 with 2 home runs, one grand slam and one a 2 run shot which gave him 6 RBI's on the night.
