Power 25 HS Preview: #3 Blessed Trinity

PBR Georgia Staff
Hudson Graham

The 2023 Georgia high school baseball season is less than a month away. With the season getting pushed up one week the coaches and players have an extra week to prepare for opening day. Will it be sunny and 75? Or below freezing for opening day? The Georgia weather is unpredictable, just like trying to predict who will come out on top of each classification. The talent in the State of Georgia continues to be one of the best in the country. Some regions have a fresh new look, and some region foes will continue to battle for that top spot to earn the best road to the state championship.

We will begin to preview our Power 25 rankings each day until the season begins. Each week we will be releasing our players of the week, updating the Top 10 in each GHSA classification as well as a Power 25. Be sure to follow PBR Georgia on twitter for live action each week, as our staff travels throughout the state to cover baseball in the great state of Georgia.

Team Outlook

Blessed Trinity will have one of the strongest senior classes in the state. Their region line up will look completely different this year. If the senior arms can be consistent, and a few underclassmen step up in the line up they could find themselves as the last team standing at the end of the year. They will rely heavily on Georgia commit Jake Lankie to lead the way on the mound. Lankie is one of the most experienced arms in his class. Lankie has some of the best pitchability the last couple of years, and with his velocity climbing each year he is becoming harder and harder to hit. Porter Buursema had a huge summer at LakePoint, and looks to build on that for his senior campaign. With his FB creeping into the mid 90’s and one of the best breaking balls in the state he will be extremely difficult to produce runs on. Indiana commit Evan O’Neill will round out the Titans pitching rotation. Georgia commit Cooper Milford will be the catalyst in the BT line-up. Milford’s speed can spark a rally in a line up at any time.

He will have a cast of talented guys behind him in the line up, including Ryan NovakCole Harof and Kade Kisz. Kisz has really progressed since the Junior Future Games in 2021, the Georgia Tech commit could put up some really impressive numbers after seeing some time as a freshman in 2022. Kisz will be accompanied by his fellow sophomores Wesley Bass and Aiden and Carson Zagryn. I will be really looking forward to seeing these 3 get some varsity time this year. If they can come onto the scene and produce they will be tough to beat with their talented group of upperclassmen.
