Power 25 Update: Week 6

PBR Georgia
Staff

There was not a ton of movement in the week 6 rankings. The top teams continue to win, and gain momentum in region play. The biggest game of the week was North Cobb Christian giving Mount Paran their second loss of the season. Region play is starting to heat up, and teams are beginning to separate themselves. There are a few series we are looking forward to in the coming weeks. #2 Houston County vs #17 Tift County will be a pivotal region match up down in South Georgia. It seems like everyone is playing their toughest region opponents towards the end of the year, so it is sure to be an action packed end to the 2023 season for playoff seeding and berths.

Risers

#6 Cartersville (11-2)
Cartersville continues to impress, and prove why they are a top 5 team in the state. They swept their toughest region opponent in Calhoun, and could possibly win out the rest of the season. It will be a tough task, but they have the arms to carry them the rest of the way.

#8 Cherokee (16-1)
The Warriors swept their first region series and look to do the same this week. They have propelled themselves to the top of the state rankings after winning 15 straight. Head coach Josh Thomas has rallied some young talent, and has put together a near perfect first half of the season.

Fallers

#7 Mount Paran (13-2)
The Eagles will likely win out, and face North Cobb Christian for a rematch to decide the region champion. They will head to North Carolina to face off against Combine Academy which will be a great match up without playoff implications.

Etowah (8-9)
The Eagles fell 3 games to rival Woodstock and look to bounce back this week against non region opponents Dunwoody and Kell.

Newcomers

#20 Greenbrier (13-2)
The Wolfpack won 10 straight, and lost 2 games to Harlem, but bounced back with sweep against Coffee County. We will be able to get eyes on Greenbrier in the next couple of weeks to see how the Wolfpack stacks up against other Power 25 opponents we have seen this spring.
