Rising Stars Preseason All-State: Quick Hits

Phil Kerber
Georgia Scouting Director

The first ever PBR Georgia
Rising Stars Preseason All-State took place on Sunday, March 6th at LakePoint Sports. The invite-only event mimics our Preseason All-State in early January for the top high school aged prospects in Georgia. The junior version brought together nearly 30 of the state’s future stars for a pro-style workout.

We begin our event analysis with a Quick Hits piece, a few notes from the day’s standouts. Below you’ll find which players’ performances caught the attention of our scouts and brief nuggets on them.

2026s

C/1B Brody Brant (North Cobb Christian, 2026) stood out with an advanced defensive skill set. The 5-foot-9, 175-pound backstop showed a quick catch and throw skill set, posting a top pop time of 2.01. Brant creates a large target behind the plate, and has an understanding of framing. At the plate, he has a simple, compact swing, driving the ball gap-to-gap. With a strong, sturdy base already, look for Brant to be a serious power threat as he continues to mature.

LHP/OF Maverick Chitwood (Habersham Central, 2026) had a good showing as two-way prospect. With plenty of physical development ahead, Chitwood checks in at a broad shouldered 5-foot-8, 132-pounds. He has a long sweeping swing at the plate, creating line drive contact to all fields. On the mound, Chitwood has feel for a fastball/changeup combo. He sat mid-70s with the fastball. His changeup was a standout pitch, showing heavy fade.

OF Trevor Condon (Etowah, 2026) made quite possibly the biggest impression out of any prospect in attendance. The 5-foot-8, 155-pound left-handed hitting outfielder is athletically built with lean, quick twitch strength. He posted an event best 6.84 60 yard dash. With the bat, Condon did damage during BP, showing off a quick, whippy swing, and an explosive lower half. He took three balls off the top of the fence in right field, posting an ax exit velocity of 90.9. Advanced across the board, watch out for big things from Condon.

LHP/OF Mason Corsaro (Lambert, 2026) impressed on the mound with a clean delivery and consistent command of three pitches. Corsaro is methodical with his actions and stays balanced throughout. He worked 76-78 with his fastball and has good feel for two offspeed pitches. Corsaro’s changeup is an advanced pitch with late fade. At 5-9, 150-pounds, he has an athletic build, running a 7.49 60 yard dash. At the plate, the swing works short to the zone, level through with bat speed.

C/OF Branson Crawford (Lakeview Academy, 2026) has made jumps across the board since the 2020 Junior Future Games, and looks to be one of the state’s top prospects. Crawford has an aggressive swing with twitchy hips and quick rotation. He was able to drive several balls deep to pull-side with a max exit velocity of 90.3. Defensively, Crawford continued to shine with a big arm. He clocked in at 79 mph from behind the plate, and took to the outfield where he topped out at 87. Advanced athletically, Crawford ran a 7.29 60 yard dash.
SS Ben Fussell (Coffee, 2026) put together an all around day. The 5-foot-7, 130-pound right-handed hitter ran a top-5 60, coming in at 7.18. During batting practice, Fussell had one of the most consistent rounds of the day. He worked center field and the right center gap using quick, athletic hands and a whippy barrel to produce line drive contact. On the infield, Fussell is a smooth, savvy defender.

OF Jonathan Granby (Fellowship Christian, 2026) was physically one of the most impressive prospects in attendance. Athletically built with present strength at 5-foot-10, 175-pounds, Granby started his day by running the second fastest 60 of the day, 6.94. He followed that up by then recording the hardest hit ball captured by TrackMan during batting practice, 93.2 exit velocity. Lastly, his 81 mph throw from the outfield ranked second at the event.

Physically advanced, Steele Ingram (North Cobb, 2026) stands 6-foot, 184-pounds with strength throughout. Ingram moves athletically, running a 7.07 60 yard dash. At the plate, he has an easy effort swing, and can whip the barrel through the zone with force. Ingram creates hard, driven contact middle/pull, posting a max exit velocity of 92.2

From a pure projectability standpoint, SS/RHP Matthew Sharman (Etowah, 2026) tests off the charts. At 6-foot-2, 180-pounds, Sharman has not even scratched the surface of his potential physicality, and still has years of development left. A two-way prospect, Sharman has present power to the pull-side at the plate, recording a max exit velocity of 92.7. On the mound, he has advanced stuff. Working with a quick tempo, Sharman touched 83 with his fastball. Most notable was his offspeed. He has great feel for a heavy fading changeup and an 11/5 curveball.
LHP/OF Dallas Pitts (Thomas County Central, 2026) showed a power trait throughout his entire game. The 5-foot-9, 170-pound two-way prospect has a broad build with strength throughout, and plenty more on the way as he continues to develop. Offensively, he has powerful hands that whip the barrel through the zone, creating hard contact, 91.3 max exit velocity. He takes that power to the field where he topped out at 80 from the outfield and 76 on the mound.

2027s

Despite being one of the youngest prospect’s in attendance, SS/RHP Patrick Hassan (North Oconee, 2027) had one of the most impressive showings. Equipped with a high powered arm already, Hassan ran his fastball up to 82. Furthermore, his slider has sharp action and will be a swing and miss pitch in the near future. Coming in at 5-foot-8, 135-pounds, Hassan has a high waist and an athletic build, running a clean 7.45 60. The right-hander will be an early name to watch in the 2027 class.

SS Collin Thomas (Georgia Premier, 2027) looked the part as much as any prospect in attendance. The 5-foot-9, 144-pound switch-hitter ran a clean 7.14 60 yard dash. At the plate, he has feel for the barrel from both sides with whippy bat speed. Thomas created line drive contact to all fields and flashed some pull-side power. On the infield he showed advanced actions and will have more than enough arm to stick, clocking in at 77 presently.

SS/RHP Ryan Trout (North Oconee, 2027) was highly impressive on the mound and showed an advanced ability to pitch. His arm works short and clean on the back-side and quickly accelerates out front. Trout is able to easily repeat his delivery and uses little effort. The feel for three pitches stands out. The fastball came in at 73-75 and comes out of the hand with some hop. Trout’s curveball has good shape and looks like a future swing and miss pitch. He also has a heavy fading changeup that is useful.
