Southeast Senior Games: Team Georgia Preview

The Southeast Senior Games on Monday, July 25th will kick-off a seven day period at LakePoint Sports in Emerson, GA where hundreds of the country’s top uncommitted prospects will put their talents on display. This event will feature some of the top uncommitted players from the 2023 class that have been invited by their state scouting director.

Catchers

The top ranked player representing Georgia will be C/OF Joe Cable (River Ridge, 2023). Cable is a physically advanced prospect, standing a strong, and sturdy 5-foot-11, 180-pounds. An impact right-handed bat, Cable has power to all fields with the potential for more. He is also equipped with a high powered arm that makes for quick throwdowns. The arm strength can also translate to the mound if Cable were to ever make a move there.

A standout performer at our Team Elite/Team Georgia Scout Day earlier this summer, C Kole McGlumphy (Forsyth Central, 2023) enters the event as an under the radar prospect ready to breakout. He has sneaky athleticism in a lean 6-foot-1, 185-pound frame, 7.2 runner. What stands out is the smooth swing that produces gap-to-gap contact. Quick hand and bat speed help him get extended and drive the ball. Defensively, McGlumphy has consistently improved across the board. He has a strong arm, 79 from the crouch, and recently posted pop times of 1.98-2.03.

Infielders

SS Jacari Hardaway (Forest Park, 2023) possesses one of the most projectable frames at the event, 6-foot-3, 170-pounds, with high end athleticism, a dual sport athlete. A natural and smooth swing with impressive timing of separation and body control for size. An advanced lower half creates tons of leverage. Hardaway is instinctive and rangy defensively with plenty of arm for the left side of the infield at the next level. Endless ceiling.

2B/SS Colten Moak (Lakeside-Evans, 2023) has stood out for the past few summers with Complete Game as a top of the order bat. A strong, athletic 6-foot, 178-pounds, the right-handed hitter has shown the ability to consistently drive the ball with force to the middle and pull-sides.

A top prospect at our LakePoint Open on June 1st, SS/OF Jaylen Hoilette (South Gwinnett, 2023) is a 5-foot-9, 170-pound right-handed hitter with arm strength and athleticism. At the plate, he utilizes his quick hands and downward swing plane to generate backspin on the baseball off his bat. Hoilette stays patient as he strides forward until he unleashes his lower half thru the zone, coupled with a strong core and keeps his barrel in the zone all the way through contact. A 7.1 runner he has upper 80s arm strength.

The 6-foot-3, 194-pound 1B Davis Coleman (Deerfield-Windsor, 2023) will bring a big bat to Team Georgia. Coleman is capable of producing upper 90s exit velocities with a gap-to-gap approach, and don’t be surprised if he registers something in the triple digits. The frame is still maturing, and there is plenty of room to continue adding.

A standout performer thus far in our PBR 17u National Championship 3B/RHP Logan Taylor (Oconee County, 2023) will bring his two-way talents to Team Georgia. Taylor has a strong build at 6-foot, 180-pounds that reflects his overall game. He has driving gap-to-gap power at the plate and good overall athleticism. On the mound, he really shines. He has a heavy sinking fastball that can sit in the upper 80s. He couples that with a hard curveball at 78-81 that is a true swing and miss pitch.

Outfielders

It is a safe bet to say that OF/1B Thomas Brooks (Mary Persons, 2023) will have one of the loudest rounds of batting practice at the event, much like he did at our Preseason All-State event back in January. A 5-foot-10, 190-pounder, Brooks has a thunderous pull-side swing. It is a long and whippy swing that lifts the ball with backspin consistently. The right-side of the field better be alert when he comes to the plate.

Another standout performer at our LakePoint Open, OF Tyler DuShane (Buford, 2023) is a lanky, twitchy athlete at 6-foot, 160-pounds. A 6.87 runner back in June, he can range around the outfield with ease and has enough arm to stick in center. At the plate you get a line drive hitter who can spray the ball to all fields. His frame is still maturing meaning there will be more to come.

One of the top prospects at the Top Prospect Games back in June, OF Cole Eison (Alexander, 2023) put on a performance. A 6.95 runner he has a quick first step, and can stick in center at the next level with an arm up to 88. At the plate, he has easy pull-side pop and has shown the ability to hit offspeed with power on a consistent basis. Do not let the 5-foot-9, 160-pound frame fool you as Eison packs a serious punch.

OF Austin Robinson (South Paulding, 2023) was no short of electric at our Macon Open in June. A right-handed hitter, he took one of the most impressive rounds of batting practice we have seen this summer, belting numerous balls out of Mercer’s Claude Smith Field. In the process, he recorded a 101.4 mph exit velocity and hit 70% of his balls with an exit velocity over 90 mph. He has a huge arm from the outfield and moves well for his 6-foot-4, 201-pound frame, dashing a 7.01 60.

Pitchers (in order of appearance)

RHP Wesley Moore (Homeschool, 2023) oozes projection with his 6-foot-6, 195-pound frame. The big right-hander has been a fixture at LakePoint Sports for several summers now. He has a quick arm and gets easy extension down the mound allowing for his upper 80s fastball to play up with riding life. The curveball takes a 12/6 shape with depth, and he can consistently flip it over for strikes. Moore’s changeup has shown good sink and fade in the past as well.

RHP Kaden Tuten (Benedictine, 2023) checks in at a strong and projectable 6-foot-2, 170-pounds. Tuten was a part of the Cadets success this past season as they made another deep postseason run. A funky right-hander, he has a deceptive delivery with a high front-side that hides the ball well. He then comes through to a low ¾ slot which provides life to his mid-80s fastball.

Another ultra projectable arm who will represent Team Georgia is RHP Marshall Flowers (Burke County, 2023). Flowers checks in at long and lanky 6-foot-5, 180-pounds. A two-sport athlete, QB1 on the gridiron, we have seen Flowers several times this summer. In his most recent start, the big right-hander topped out at 87, sitting 83-87 mph. He also showed solid feel for his curveball that was 69-71.  

Whenever RHP Chase Moller (Alexander, 2023) has taken the mound in front of us he has shown a high level to pound the strike zone, hit his sports and induce weak contact. As cool as they come in high pressure situations. His running fastball continues to tick upwards, reaching 86 mph at the Southeast Select last week. The breaking ball is a true weapon with two plane break. An athletic 6-foot-1, 150-pounds, there is more in the tank.

The big bodied RHP Logan Bryson (Woodstock, 2023) returned mid-season for the Wolverines this spring and helped them claim the 7A State title. At 6-foot-3, 205-pounds, Bryson has a strong, durable build and a lot more in the tank. The velocity continues to tick up into the mid and upper 80s. He has good feel for a curveball as well as a splitter that can get hitters off balance.

RHP Noah McMahon (Decatur, 2023) thoroughly impressed our staff in his appearance only yesterday at the PBR 17u National Championship. The 6-foot-2, 169-pound right-hander sits 82-85, touching 86 and 87 at-times. His changeup is a weapon, the pitch as heavy fade and sink and tunnels well off his fastball, creating deception. McMahon can also spin in a sweeping curveball.
