Our goal at Prep Baseball Report is to promote high school players, and give them the exposure they need to be able to play at the next level. With the 2020 high school season cancelled, we want to continue to be able to promote players, even when baseball is not being played. We have sent surveys out to coaches around the state and got their input on the first weeks of the season. Over the next few weeks, we will highlight the season and standout players, team by team.

1/11/20 - Towering 6-foot-6, 195-pounds. Watkins is able to get out front to a high ¾ slot. His fastball played at 84-86 with run and complimented it with a 12/6 curveball that showed late, sharp break.

9/22/19 - Shortstop/right-handed pitcher checks in at 5-foot-10, 155-pounds. Norton is athletic and his hands and feet really work well together on the defensive side of the ball. He is accurate and has some arm strength with a 81-Infield Velocity, but also gives you the feel of a guy that can accurately flip the ball with a quick release when he is not throwing for the gun. His 7.18/60-yard time is respectable and shows his athletic ability. With added strength and staying over his backside a little bit better his 78-Exit Velocity should improve, but looks as though he still wants to get to his front side a little to quick at times. Once he adds strength and trust that strength look for even more and harder contact to follow.

2/14/20 - 5-foot-11, 170-pound switch-hitting outfielder, athletically built, long, lean frame, will fill out with strength as he continues to physically mature. Offensively, similar from the both sides of the plate, relaxed look, athletic setup, smooth rhythm in his hands, loads weight back, short stride, shifts weight appropriately to a balanced position through contact. Uses his long arms to gain extension through the zone, allows him to drive the ball from gap-to-gap. Has good feel from the right and left sides of the plate with strength and power.
