Prep Baseball Report

Season Review: Sprayberry

Kyle Colletta
PBR Georgia

Our goal at Prep Baseball Report is to promote high school players, and give them the exposure they need to be able to play at the next level. With the 2020 high school season cancelled, we want to continue to be able to promote players, even when baseball is not being played. We have sent surveys out to coaches around the state and got their input on the first weeks of the season. Over the next few weeks, we will highlight the season and standout players, team by team.

Sprayberry Yellow Jackets

Record: 2-11, 2-4 in Region Play

Despite the season-shortened record, Coach Tejcek, with his first year at the helm at Sprayberry under his belt, is excited for next season and the crop of talented, young players that are returning.

We started 5 sophomores, 1 freshman, and 2 juniors in the field, defensively. Our top-four starters on the mound were 3 sophomores and 1 junior. We definitely played our best baseball the last two games of the year DH at River Ridge. Sophomore pitcher Lucas Morici pitched his best game of the year having a no-hitter going into the 6th.  The experience we were getting was great for our young players,” Tejcek said in his reflection on the season.
