After a great week of baseball at the State Games - Georgia, let's take a quick look at some of the top performers on Championship Sunday.

Central Alabama Brewers 17U

Logan Sims (2020 SS/RHP, Oak Grove, AL)
6-foot-1, 185 pounds; athletic frame. Showed advanced two-way talent. On the mound, got the start in the semi-final game. Athletic actions, shoulders stay on plane.  FB sat 81-84; lived low in the zone, battled a Sox lineup that had some fire-power. Clean hands at shortstop, showed advanced fundamentals on DB players; stayed low to the ground.

Tyler Mauldin (2020, 2B, Hewitt Trussville, AL)
6-foot, 180 pounds. Athletic set-up. Gets backside through very well; uses strong legs. Hands get extended, ability to produce backspin on ball. One-handed finish. Good duo up the middle with Sims.

Evan Kincaid (2020 C, Pinson, AL)
5-foot-10, 160 pounds. Plus defender behind the plate. Long, loose arm; low transfer. Quick glove upon receiving. Athletic feet that gains ground toward second. Flashed a 1.8-2.0 pop time.

Cooper Prince (2020 OF/2B, Hoover, AL)
5-foot-7, 135 pounds. Compact frame but has deceptive strength. Hits from a calm, open stance. Loose hands; Momentum load. Level swing, stays through the ball throughout. Comes around ball at times, but showed plenty of promise over the weekend.

Sox Baseball 17U

Donavan Cash (2020 CIF, Northgate)
5-foot-10, 185 pounds; strong build. Hits from a crouched stance; stays in his legs. Load and timing are in sync. Has ability to get barrel out in front and drive the ball. Put good, aggressive swings on balls all Sunday. Narrowly missed a HR that went foul; exit velo of 104mph.

Easley Baseball 16U

Deadrick Cail (2021, Marion, AR)
5-foot-11, 185 pound; strong lower-half. Showed well on Sunday with multiple showings of plus-power. Fast, strong hands produced a HR with an exit speed of 97mph and traveled 349 feet. A player to keep an eye on in the future.

Brady Tygart (2021 RHP, Lewisburg, MS)
Arkansas commit. 6-foot-2, 174 pounds. Full arm motion at a ¾ slot. Good tilt on FB; sat 85-87,T88. Had a spin rate at 2100-2400rpm. Two seam run to it. Paired FB with good breaking ball that commanded well.

Rawlings SE MAD 15u

Zach McWilliams (2022 RHP, Goodpasture)
Tall lean frame with a live arm for his age. Overheard arm slot. Fastball sat 83-85, touched 86 at times. Still developing his slider, did not throw it during the game. Sat 71-72 during warm ups. Had a quick pickoff move to first.

Tanner Langley (2021 RHP/INF)
6-foot-2, 215 pounds. Touched on his offensive prowess for day 3, but Langley showed off the arm on Sunday. Physical on the mound, aggressive arm. Heavy FB at 84-87 paired with CB at 65.

QAB 15u

Brody Beal RHP, 2022
Short muscular build. Overhead arm slot with good fluid arm action. Fastball sat 71-74, but touched 76. Curveball had good spin and lived around 62.

Tristan Nguyen OF, 2022
Stocky right fielder. Quick left handed bat with a opposite field approach. Seemed to get a base hit every time we saw him over the weekend. Solid competitor at the plate.

Tanner Allen 1B/RHP
Large frame, growing into his body. At the plate, he has above average power for his age. As a pitcher, his fastball sat 64-66 and was complemented by his curveball that was low 60s.

Nick Sturm SS, 2022
6-foot-2, 180 pounds; thick stature. Advanced feel in the infield, skill set and frame look like he has the ability to also play third. Strong arm with good carry across the infield.

Loganville 15U

Chandler Haulk (2022 OF/IF, Loganville)
6-foot-3, 170 pounds. Smooth swing, stays level and uses middle of field well. Handled velocity; fought off multiple pitches and recognized spin.

Maven Farmer (2021, CF, Loganville)
6-foot, 165 pounds. Long, athletic kid. Had a strong showing at the plate during the event. Plenty of base hits, most being hard hit line drives. Has a good idea what he is doing at the plate. Fast paced load, but stays under control. Solid player.

Christian Donaldson (2022, INF/RHP, Loganville)
Small frame, not physically developed, yet. Despite size, Donaldson might have shown to be the most competitive player at the event. Battled mid-80’s extremely well, including an AB where he fouled off multiple pitches to draw a walk. On the mound, gets creative with deceptiveness. Dropped down to submarine to fool opposition. All statistics aside, Donaldson plays the game the right way.

Rawlings SE MAD Mavericks 15U

Bo Burklow (2023 CIF/OF, Brentwood, TN)
Physical player with good offensive skill set. High back elbow, short load with hands, looks pull side and drives the ball. Smooth follow through, plus hitter.

Rawlings SE 14u

Cooper Hargrove, LHP
Tall thick frame. Fastball sat 70-72, touched 74. Has an excellent snap throw to first base for his age.

Ty Allen, RHP, 2023
Fluid OT arm motion. Advanced mechanics, good pitchability. FB worked 77-78 with downward plane. Commanded FB well by spotting up on the outer-half of the plate.

Ethan McElvain, 2023
6-foot-1, 180 pounds. Looked the part and skill set proved that. Physical body with an aggressive offensive approach. Showed plus-pop in the bat with a one-hopped double, followed by a hard line drive single. Wide base, calm load, swing made to do damage.

Roadrunners 16u

Zion Tayor RHP 2021
6-foot-3 170 pound slender built right-handed pitcher. Fastball runs 82-84pm. Curveball sits 66-69 mph. His slider has great late break and sits 67-71, which is confident enough in to throw in any count. Fills the zone with strikes and loves to pitch backwards to hitters.
