This week, Prep Baseball Report is hosting the Junior Future Games alongside the Future Games, with both events taking place at LakePoint in Cartersville, Georgia. Like the Future Games, teams represent a region, with Team Mid-Atlantic being made up of players from Maryland, Delaware, DC, and Virginia.

Junior Future Games teams play in a four game pool play tournament, with the pool leaders advancing to a Championship round on Sunday. 2019 is the first year that Team Mid-Atlantic has teams in the Junior Future Games field, with a 14U team and a 13U team competing.

13U opened their tournament with a doubleheader Friday morning. In the early game against Team Georgia, Team Mid-Atlantic's bats came out smoking with a 12-run first inning en route to a shortened 15-0 victory. Three pitchers combined on the 1-hitter. In 13U's second game, the team beat Arizona 16-8, in what was a back-and-forth game early before Mid-Atlantic's bats pulled the game out, capped off by Justin Gunter's three-run inside the park home run that ended the game by the run rule. With the sweep, 13U will advance into the Championship Bracket on Saturday evening.

14U Mid-Atlantic had their scheduled pool play game postponed due to Friday afternoon's extensive lightning delays. 14U Mid-Atlantic will continue pool play with a pair of games on Saturday before Sunday's Bracket play takes place.
