Here we take a look at some of the top 2024 uncommitted players that showcased their talent at the LakePoint Preseason I.D. Our staff looks forward to seeing these players have a strong junior campaign. The junior year is a pivotal year in the recruiting process, and these 4 players have the talent to make an impact at the next level somewhere. Below we highlight some of the attributes that stood out to our staff.

Mark Buelow Jr. RHP / 3B / St. Francis, GA / 2024

5-foot-11 190-pounds. Strong, athletic framed righty posted a 7.28 60-yard dash, and showed his explosiveness posting a 1.66 10 yard dash, which was one of the fastest of the day. His explosiveness translated to the plate where he averaged close to 87mph in exit velocity. Buelow sprayed hard line drives all across the field. With no surprise his Blast Motion metrics were some of the best of the day, posting 75.6 bat speed and showing high rotational acceleration. On the mound Buelow was 78-82 with the fastball with strength throughout his delivery. He stays in his lower half and fills up the zone. He threw his curveball and change up for strikes as well. Buelow will continue to let his athleticism show throughout his game. Expect a strong junior campaign St. Francis.

Judah Powell 1B / 3B / Apalachee, GA / 2024

6-foot-4 230-pounds. Judah stands tall and strong on the mound. He posted the top numbers in multiple categories for the Preseason I.D. He looks to be in mid season form running the fastball up to 89 and settling in at 87. His spins metrics on Trackman are above average in the 2024 class. The curveball was around 2500 spin, with a lot of heavy, late break. The change up plays well off of his fastball at 78, for a 10mph velocity change, keeping hitting on their toes. Powell had a great day on the mound and will continue to do so this spring.

Evan Wiley SS / 2B / Fayette County, GA / 2024

5-foot-11 180-pounds. The stout MIF has all the right tools to be a great addition up the middle at the next level. He was a top performer at the LakePoint Preseason I.D. He posted the top INF velocity at 85mph. Working at SS, he moved well side to side, and has the arm to go with the range. At the plate he simplifies everything, generating a lot of power, and staying through the zone with a strong finish.

Cooper Chunn OF / RHP / North Gwinnett, GA / 2024

6-foot-2 185-pounds. The long, lanky OF/P displayed some of top 2-way attributes at the event. From the outfield he was 84mph with good actions, and showed the ability to use his speed to get to balls in the gap. His frame has room to fill in and add strength which will help out at the plate. The swing is consistent with a small leg kick, and good hip drive throughout. On the mound he drops down to the low 3/4/side arm slot. His fastball was up to 78, and kept the ball down in the zone with some sink. The slider is high spin, and he keeps in the same arm slot as the fastball. Chunn will look to carry these assets into the spring for the North Gwinnett Bulldogs.
