East Georgia Rising Stars Preseason ID: Infielder Reports

FLOWERY BRANCH, GA - The Prep Baseball Georgia staff hosted the East Georgia Rising Stars Preseason ID at IVSA. This event was an opportunity to see a talented group of 2029-2030 players. These players went through extended pro-style workout that included batting practice using Trackman, ran the 30 yard dash using VALD Performance, and much more. Pitchers were able to throw short bullpens with Trackman. There were some players who showed up and continued to build off of prior performances, but there were also some new names who jumped onto our radar with a strong showing on Saturday. Later this week, we will break down the stat leaders from the more traditional categories in our statistical analysis. Today, we take a look at the infielder reports for each individual player that attended the event, with the help of our tech sponsors.

Micah Bailey, Clarke Central High School (GA), 2029
Positional Profile: 1B/3B
Body: 5-9, 220 pounds.
Hit: RHH. Narrow stance with slide step load. Hands held back with slight bat waggle. Shows ability to extend the arms and mash the inside pitches. Strong upper-half with line drive power to middle and pull-side.
Power: 86 mph max exit velocity (74.5 avg.); 238-foot max batted distance.
Arm: RH. INF - 66.00 mph. Over the top.
Defense: Plays ball out front. Strong hands.

Landry Boling, home schooled (GA), 2029
Positional Profile: 3B/RHP
Body: 6-2, 180 pounds.
Hit: RHH. Loose hands with quiet confidence. Explodes through the zone.Relaxed and narrow stance, tall in the box Opposite field strength with power up the middle. Swing comes down hard and generates back spin with hard line drives and fly balls.
Power: 88 mph max exit velocity (82.6 avg.); 303-foot max batted distance.
Arm: RH. INF - 77.00 mph. Smooth mechanics. Strong arm from multiple angles.
Defense: Plays ball out front. Soft hands. Solid footwork.

Brayden Couch, Cherokee Bluff (GA), 2029
Positional Profile: OF/RHP
Body: 5-9, 130 pounds.
Hit: LHH. Semi-neutral base with strong internal rotation. Good body control. Hands held high. Advanced approaches with strong opposite field presence. Shows power to all fields with good feel for the barrel with strong middle-middle bat path.
Power: 79 mph max exit velocity (70.6 avg.); 220-foot max batted distance.
