Hawaii 2025 Class Rankings: Fall Update

It’s been a little over a year since Prep Baseball Hawaii was introduced to the Hawaii baseball community and we are excited to release our year-end Hawaii class of 2025 Top 10 Rankings.
Hawaii’s 2025 class is one of the strongest and deepest classes out of Hawaii in the last twenty years with dozens of DI and four-year commits along with and a handful of players who are on Major League Baseball scout’s radar as potential July drafts.
This class is also the first class Prep Baseball Hawaii has been able to run events and evaluate players over the course of a full calendar year.
We kicked-off 2024 in January with Preseason ID’s, covered spring regular season games, ran two Rising Stars events for seventh and eighth graders, partnered with BIWBA in their Memorial Day Tournament, brought three ages groups to 2024 Future Games, ran a successful West Coast Games for 2025’s and ended the year partnering with the #1 Hawaii high school baseball event of the year - Hawaii Fall Showcase: Powered by Prep Baseball Hawaii.
The ability for Prep Baseball Hawaii to see the 2025 class event after event and game after game allowed Prep Baseball Hawaii to identify the top players and construct our 2025 Top 10: Fall Update.
Now, we dive into these 2025 Rankings which saw minimal movement throughout, but did see a handful of players climb up not only the Top 10, but make their way up the rankings outside the Top 10.
This week we will continue to highlight the top prospects in the 808 with the Ranking Risers as well as the Top 10 Uncommitted Prospects who are still on the board. Stay tuned as we continue to push our 2025 Hawaii class beyond this week to help each uncommitted players find a college as we approach the upcoming 2025 season.

The Top 10

Bruin Agbayani SS / 2B / Saint Louis, HI / 2025All eyes were on Agbayani, Prep Baseball Hawaii’s #1 ranked 2025 and the #1 follow for many MLB scouts going into 2025. Agbayani showed off his best arm to date with 94 mph INF velo, a three mph increase from his last Prep Baseball Hawaii event in January. Swung it well as usual taking a strong BP working the entire field with line-drives and drove a few balls in Sunday’s game. The recent Michigan commit will be seen early and often in 2025 by MLB scouts and could be the first player selected out of Hawaii in the 2025 MLB Draft.

Logan Honma SS / C / Pearl City, HI / 2025First time ever trying behind plate, Prep Baseball Hawaii’s #2 ranked 2025 posted the third best pop-time (1.88) and second best catcher velo (79 mph), looking like catching was his natural position. Left handed hitting catchers are a commodity and Honma’s value shot way up in the eyes of MLB scouts as a potential July MLB Draft. Trimmed down and got stronger, body looks great. The University of Southern California commit may have a tough decision to make next July.

Elai Iwanaga RHP / OF / Kamehameha Schools Kapalama Campus, HI / 2025Hawaii’s King of Spin successfully defended that title and once again was #1 in Trackman Spin Rate Max (3041) ripping off some tight/late SL’s that induced bad hacks/chases. Iwanaga also was #1 in TrackMan velo (91.3) and showed feel for CHG. Prep Baseball Hawaii’s #3 ranked 2025 and UCLA commit is a priority for MLB scouts to see next spring.

Leahiaukai Araujo-Waiau 3B / C / Mililani, HI / 2025Araujo-Waiau consistently scores amongst the top in power bat categories: Trackman Max Distance (#6), Blast Hand Speed (#7) and Blast Bat Speed (#8). Arm strength is arguably Araujo-Waiau’s best tool with 89 INF velo and 78 catcher velo. Value goes way up in the eyes of MLB scouts if Araujo-Waiau can catch, posting an impressive 1.92 pop-time with little experience behind plate. Prep Baseball Hawaii’s #4 ranked 2025 and University of Hawaii commit likely won’t catch for Mililani this spring and MLB scouts likely invite him to pre-draft workouts where they can work him out behind-the-plate.

Kaimana Lau Kong 3B / OF / 'Iolani, HI / 2025Towering over most is one of the first players you notice, 6-foot-7, 220-pound Mana Lau Kong. Staying with the term towering, Lau Kong hit some towering HR’s nearly 400 ft in wood BP with some serious hang-time on a damp night. Lau Kong scored at or near the top in many categories: Blast Hand Speed (#1), Blast Bat Speed (#7), Trackman EV (#6), Trackman Max Distance (#3) and Trackman Rotation Acceleration (#3). Prep Baseball Hawaii’s #5 ranked 2025 and University of Hawaii commit profiles as a middle-of-the-order power-hitting 3B/OF run producer next level – which could be DI or MLB.

Malosi Mata'afa-Alferos SS / 2B / Mililani, HI / 2025Rankings StateRank: 6 / POS: 3
Arm is best tool, can really throw, present plus now, maybe better, loose arm wtih excellent arm action...plus actions at SS with above-average range...able to play all SS/2B/3B and probably every OF position = defensive versatility value and would love to see him catch...offensively profiles as two-hole contact-hitter who uses whole field and power still on the come...not a burner but run is a value as SB threat...on MLB scout's radar as a priority guy to see after taking part in Area Codes with Kansas City Royals and the University of Oregon commit is potential July MLB draft.

Bryson Toner RHP / Kaiser, HI / 2025Rankings StateRank: 7 / POS: 2
One of the more physical 2025 arms with arguably highest ceiling out of an exceptional ‘25 HI pitching class...love the loose arm with excellent arm action and delivery...has shown 90+, bumping 93-94 this spring is not far-fetched considering he's doing it with near zero effort...CHG has improved two grades over last two yrs = future plus, breaking ball continues to improve as well...stuff, command, confidence and demeanor all way up from a year ago and the LMU signee is one who MLB scouts need to see early next spring.

Greyson Osbun RHP / OF / Kamehameha Schools Kapalama Campus, HI / 2025Rankings StateRank: 8 / POS: 3
Grew an inch and put on almost 10 lbs of muscle (especially lower half) since Jan 7 Oahu Preseason ID. 2024's Prep Baseball Hawaii Player (and pitcher) of the Year gave up a first-pitch HR on belt-high FB then proceeded to showed the poise and mound presence of a 10 year MLB veteran, HR didn't faze him, came right back and struck out the next batter and showed why he's arguable the best prep pitcher in the state with future plus breaking ball and CHG. Osbun is a huge piece of maybe the best/deepest Hawaii high school pitching staff ever at Kamehameha Kapalama. Osbun will be trusted by his teammates and coaches in big games as no other pitcher in 2024 came up with bigger performances to close 2024's regular season when their team needed a big win. Great get for University of Nevada where Osbun projects to be a major contributor as a freshman in 2026.

Allin Yap LHP / OF / Maryknoll, HI / 2025Rankings StateRank: 9 / POS: 1
Physical LHP with future Big League body...athletic delivery with good arm action and does it easy...up to 88 with command, easy to project 90+ next spring, SL and CHG both weapons, both shot at above-average w/pitchability & maybe plus strikes to start...also RHH OF w/present +raw, put on a show at Hawaii Fall Showcase in wood BP hitting 'um as far as most of the famous position players...MLB scouts know they need to see Yap next spring but likely ends up a great local boy get for University of Hawaii and a major contributor as a freshman in 2026.

Nicholas Nashiwa C / 2B / Maui, HI / 2025Rankings StateRank: 10 / POS: 1
Hawaii's biggest riser of the 2025 class is super UTL Nick Nashiwa...put up some of the best defensive metrics in 2024 out of Hawaii with 1.87 pop and 79 C velo, MIF with plus feel defensively who can pick it & play any pos, super UTL guy who DI's find invaluable now with 34 man roster limits…scrappy contact hitter, knows his game, takes what's given to him and a tough out…premium instincts, feel, IQ and makeup is off-the-scale...rocketed up into Hawaii's Top 10 as the #1 uncommitted Hawaiian in the 2025 class and a great late get for a DI.

Allin Yap LHP / OF / Maryknoll, HI / 2025Rankings StateRank: 9 / POS: 1
Climbs up the rankings into the Top 10 for the first time at #9. Lots to like from the physical LHP, has the body, stuff and command of full mix to help a DI now. FB up to 88 and velocity has been steadily increasing over last few years, we should see 90+ next spring. Yap is primed for a huge senior year as the ace for Maryknoll. Excellent local boy commit for University of Hawaii, one who can help the 'Bows right away.

Nicholas Nashiwa C / 2B / Maui, HI / 2025Rankings StateRank: 10 / POS: 1
No other Hawaiian had a bigger jump than Nashiwa. The Maui high school product had scouts and college coaches questioning if they were early with their stopwatch as Nashiwa posted consistent pop-times under 1.90 at West Coast Games and Hawaii Fall Showcase. Able to play any position on the field, Nashiwa is a super utility guy who DI's need on their roster with the new roster limits. Nashiwa is Prep Baseball Hawaii's #10 overall 2025 and our 2025 #1 uncommitted Hawaiian.

Kai Hirayama LHP / OF / Mililani, HI / 2025Rankings StateRank: 15 / POS: 3
Hirayama is arguably made the most improvement since the spring amongst all 2025's. Velocity is up to 87, CB and CHG both plus swing-n-miss weapons and was the most impressive arm on Team Hawaii at West Coast Games with a dominating performance. One of the youngest in his class, Hirayama just turned 17 and has plus body projection, suggesting plus-plus upside. Hirayama jumps up the list to Prep Baseball Hawaii's #15 ranked 2025 and one of the top Hawaii uncommitted players who could get scooped up by a DI any day now.

Ka'ili Kane 1B / 3B / Saint Louis School, HI / 2025Rankings StateRank: 19 / POS: 1
No batter took better AB's or was a tougher out at Hawaii Fall Showcase than the Saint Louis power hitter. Started his event with a loud BP with easy barrels then took that impressive BP into games. Kane jumped on a first pitch FB belt-high for an ambush HR to deep left field vs Prep Baseball Hawaii's 2024 POY then battled in his next AB's, fouling off tough pitches and putting the ball in play. Kane is an under-the-radar guy who's not just a good hitter but one of the best pure hitters in Hawaii and one of the top Prep Baseball Hawaii's uncommitted 2025's. Kane debut's on Prep Baseball Hawaii's rankings at #19.

Rayvin Pagan 1B / RHP / Kailua, HI / 2025Rankings StateRank: 20 / POS: 2
Lots to like out of the 6-02/215 Kailua High School product and Prep Baseball Hawaii's #20 ranked 2025. Pagan showed some feel for hitting, displayed his obvious left-handed power, cut loose 88 across the diamond with better feet and actions than most would expect at 1B, would love to see him at 3B to makes use of his strong arm and give him every shot to stay there. 87 on the bump with plus-plus run (21.7 HM) to his heavy sinker and makings of quality secondary makes the Hawaii Pacific University commit and excellent local boy two-way recruit.
