Unsigned Senior Spotlight: SS Tanner Fujino
March 11, 2025
The winter schedule has come to a close as players are now preparing for the 2025 season which will be getting underway in the coming days, while other players have already got some game reps in with tournament play. The 2025 preseason showcase schedule featured the first-ever Hawaii Preseason Invitational which was an eight-team tournament to open up the year that saw all positional players run through a pro-style workout alongside our tech partners, while we also collected updated TrackMan pitching data on all arms during gameplay.
Our staff had eyes on over 100 players and with the season finally here, there is still a ton of quality uncommitted talent still on the board in Hawaii's senior class. Over the next couple weeks, our staff will begin highlighting some of these names who need to be on the radar of college coaches looking to roundout their 2025 class.
We continue our Top Uncommitted Senior Spotlight Series with '25 SS Tanner Fujino of Maryknoll HS who represented Hawaii at the 2024 West Coast Games and is the top uncommitted senior infielder in the State.

Scouting Report
One of the better "baseball players" in Hawaii with strong tools across boards. Won't lead in metrics in your workout/testing day but consistently scores in the top 5-10 in just about every category. Strong present tools project to improve to DI above-average tools and plus IQ/instincts/feel plays up tools and game even more. One of the top uncommitted players in Hawaii who truly has a shot to play DI shortstop with his sure hands and strong arm. Bat has more pop than most would guess but knows his game, line-drive oriented and works entire field. Plenty of value on both sides of ball who DI's are watching closely as a possible late recruit.
5-10/176, athletic frame...one of the best "baseball players" in all Hawaii who I feel may end up better than many of the famous local boys...solid tools across boards that all play up due to plus IQ, instincts & feel for game, smart player who knows who he is & what his game is...got some bat speed (Blast 73.4) & sneaky pop (Trackman 94.1 Exit Velo) but doesn't try to do too much, line-drive/all-fields approach, contact hitter who seldom K's, tough out/quality AB guy, 2-hole profile hitter...actions & hands may be best tools, sure fielder, zero flash, just makes all the plays, +range due to IQ/instincts, slow heartbeat in field, excellent reading hops & clock, presently 83 INF velo, who likely ends up w/enough arm for left side, legit shot to stay at SS, could end up +field at 2B & UTL versatility value...would love to see him behind plate as well, could surprise...not a burner but plus on bases as run plays up w/+IQ & instincts, excellent reads in dirt to advance, smart baserunner & +SB threat...makeup is off-the-scale...game could end up similar to David Fletcher...#14 ranked Hawaii 2025...strong DI recruit.
