PBR: Why did you choose Mount Mercy College?
DONOHUE: Close to home, has the major I am looking for, smaller class sizes, building new athletic complex including new baseball field on campus to be done September 2017, really liked Coach Dahm and his background.

PBR: What other schools were you considering?
DONOHUE: Coe, Waldorf, Winona State, Loras, St. Cloud State.

PBR: Where did the coaching staff first see you? How did your relationship develop with them?
DONOHUE: They saw me pitch this summer and again for fall team.  Visited campus twice and then text and phone calls with Coach Dahm.

PBR: Do you feel relieved now that the process is over and you can just focus on baseball and not deal with everything that goes into picking a school?
DONOHUE: Yes, now am focused on getting stronger and gaining weight.  Also focus on school for my senior year.

PBR: Was there one deciding factor that put your choice over the top?
DONOHUE: Relationship with Coach Dahm.  Really like his approach to recruiting.  Also excited for new athletic complex and baseball field.

PBR: Who has helped you the most to get to where you are today?
DONOHUE: My dad has been working with me since I was 5 years old.  We still talk a lot about the mental approach to pitching.  Also Coach Fish and Coach Hauck my high school coaches.  They are not only great coaches they are great mentors.

PBR: What were your expectations about the recruiting process? Was it easy/difficult?
DONOHUE: Didn’t really have expectations going into recruiting process.  Took over 10 visits in the past few years.  Overall it was pretty easy, everything fell into place in the end.

PBR: What plans does the coaching staff have in store for you in your freshman season?
DONOHUE: Plan is for me to gain weight and keep adding velocity.  Also work on my change-up so I am comfortable to throw all three pitches in any situation.  I am hopeful and they are hopeful I will have a good fall season my freshman year and have the opportunity to compete for some innings my freshman year.

PBR: What is your most memorable baseball moment to date?
DONOHUE: We have had 3 24+ win seasons since I have been pitching varsity.  We went to sub-state final my freshman year.  Also throwing a no-hitter this past year.

PBR: Who is the best player that you have competed against?
DONOHUE: I have played against so many good players over the years.  One I have been competing against since 8U baseball is Riley Pfiffner.  He is a complete player in that he can hit, run, pitch, play good defense, and is a great leader.  I was fortunate to play with him on a travel team and a spring team.
