PBR: Why did you choose Iowa Western CC?
BENNETT: I chose Iowa Western because after all the visits, the things that Iowa Western sold me on was family and the culture they create.  The fact that they are a powerhouse program didn't hurt either. I am confident that I will come out of this program a much better player and person.

PBR: What other schools were you considering?
BENNETT: I also had offers and interest from NIACC, SCC, Heartland, Johnson County, Cisco CC, Miami of Ohio, and South Dakota State.

PBR: Where did the coaching staff first see you? How did your relationship develop with them?
BENNETT: IW first saw me at an Iowa camp and then they started to look for me at PBR Showcases. It took a little while to get together, but when I made the visit, it all just seemed right. The coaches were very upfront and the communication was great.

PBR: Do you feel relieved now that the process is over and you can just focus on baseball and not deal with everything that goes into picking a school?
BENNETT: I am relieved that this portion is over, however I still get contacted by D1 schools. I have been told that spring could get very interesting, but I am very happy with my current situation.

PBR: Was there one deciding factor that put your choice over the top?
BENNETT: I would have to say that the coaching staff was the deciding factor, they believe in me at my current position and made the commitment to make me a better MIF player.

PBR: Who has helped you the most to get to where you are today?
BENNETT: I have had so many people help, PBR, Terry Rosenkrantz with Survival Baseball, Eric Munson with EMB, Jason Cusick my trainer, and Kurt Wedewer, who really got me started in the travel baseball world.

PBR: What were your expectations about the recruiting process? Was it easy/difficult?
BENNETT: The recruiting process is supposed to be enjoyable, but it is pretty intense. I was pretty fortunate to have many options, however making the visits and trying to find the right fit was difficult in a very short period of time.

PBR: What plans does the coaching staff have in store for you in your freshman season?
BENNETT: The coaching staff has me slated at SS/2nd base and 1-5 hitter.

PBR: What is your most memorable baseball moment to date?
BENNETT: Hitting the walk-off to beat Iowa City High and then also getting the win on the mound in extra innings.

PBR: Who is the best player that you have competed against?
BENNETT: Jordan Adell in Jupiter this year.
